BINGE launches on Prime Video Australia: plans, sport and shows – Australians can now subscribe to BINGE inside Prime Video, bringing the local streaming service’s dramas, comedy, reality, live sport and news channels into Amazon’s app. The add-on launched on 28 October with Standard priced at $19 a month and Premium at $22 a month.
The practical change for viewers is access and billing: viewers can manage a BINGE add-on through Prime Video without downloading a separate BINGE app. It is still a separately paid subscription, rather than content included with a standard Prime Video membership. Customers can cancel the add-on at any time.
The arrangement also broadens BINGE’s distribution at a time when Australian households increasingly choose between several streaming apps. In fact, it makes BINGE Prime Video’s 32nd add-on subscription partner in Australia, joining options such as HBO Max, Apple TV, Paramount+, MGM+ and Hayu.
What does the BINGE add-on cost?
Prime Video lists two BINGE options: Standard at $19 per month and Premium at $22 per month. Viewers should check the plan terms at sign-up for the features included in each tier. The add-on has one Prime Video billing relationship and customers can cancel it at any time.
That distinction matters if you already subscribe to BINGE directly. This is a new route to access the service; it does not say existing direct subscriptions transfer automatically or that an existing BINGE bill is replaced.
Shows, live sport and news
For example, the entertainment selection includes Australian originals Colin From Accounts, Wentworth and High Country. International titles named for the launch include The Five Star Weekend, American Horror Story, Outlander: The Final Season, Yaga, The Real Housewives of New York City, Saturday Night Live and The Day of the Jackal.
For sports viewers, the BINGE offering includes live action sourced from Kayo Sports: AFLW and NRLW, selected AFL, NRL, BBL and WBBL matches, F1 Kayo Minis and surfing. BINGE shows selected matches without ad breaks during play. However, viewers should not assume the add-on includes the entire Kayo Sports catalogue or every match in those competitions.
Alongside sport, live news channels include News24, BBC News, FOX SPORTS News and CNBC. Together, these put more of BINGE’s existing range within the Prime Video interface.
