HBO Max Australia September 2026 highlights – HBO Max has confirmed its September 2026 highlights for Australia, led by Youth, SNL UK, Slo Pitch, Mother Mary, Siren: The Voices of Shelley Beattie, Megalopolis and Bookish.
The September line-up covers HBO Originals, comedy, documentary, true crime, film premieres, library titles and returning series.
For Australian streaming audiences, the month is especially strong on originals and same-day US releases. HBO Max is using September to mix scripted premieres with documentary specials, comedy launches and a full schedule of Discovery and ID additions.
Youth
Monday, 21 September, only on HBO Max. Two-episode premiere, same day as the US. Eight episodes.
Youth follows a 50-year-old divorcee navigating dating, sex and love while also caring for her ailing parents and raising her not-quite-grown-up son.
The HBO Original stars Sharon Horgan, Sharlene Whyte, Rupert Friend, Aran Murphy and Robbie Gee.
SNL UK Season 2
Monday, 14 September, only on HBO Max. Episodes drop weekly. Twelve episodes.
SNL UK returns with more sketches, celebrity hosts and live comedy moments. All 11 members of the inaugural cast return for season two, with the first six episodes airing in 2026 and additional shows planned in early 2027.
Slo Pitch

Slo Pitch follows the Brovaries, a queer beer-league softball team determined to defy the odds and chase a championship season. The comedy blends recreational sport, friendship and unapologetic queer joy through a Canadian lens.
Siren: The Voices Of Shelley Beattie

Hollywood veteran Marlee Matlin came across the story of athlete Shelley Beattie, a fellow deaf woman whose life reflected parts of her own experience. Directed by Irene Taylor, the documentary explores parallels between the two women and examines strength, fame, discrimination, abuse, addiction and resilience.
A Killer Story

A Killer Story examines a murder case spanning more than two decades. Dana Chandler was accused of killing her ex-husband and his girlfriend in 2002. Mother Mary

Anne Hathaway stars as global pop icon Mother Mary, who suffers a near-fatal onstage incident and struggles with existential burnout. Seeking a creative reset for her comeback performance, she travels to the English countryside to reconnect with Sam Anselm, played by Michaela Coel.
