The Pursuit: F1 ACADEMY arrives on Disney+ on 19 November – Disney+ will debut The Pursuit: F1 ACADEMY on 19 November 2026. The documentary takes Australian viewers inside the all-female racing series’ 2025 season. It follows young drivers chasing a path to higher levels of motorsport. The special arrives as Formula 1’s Las Vegas Grand Prix weekend begins.
The timing gives the special a clear Australian viewing hook. It will be available on Disney+ here on the same global date, before the Las Vegas Grand Prix runs from 19 to 21 November. Unlike a race broadcast, this is a behind-the-scenes account of the drivers’ seasons. It also explores their lives away from the circuit and the people guiding the series.
Four drivers and the pressure behind the racing
The special follows Doriane Pin, Maya Weug, Chloe Chambers and Alisha Palmowski through the 2025 F1 ACADEMY season. Filmed at race locations around the world, it captures race-weekend competition. It also shows the work, sacrifices and setbacks off the track. The documentary also looks at the teams and leadership shaping the series, including F1 ACADEMY managing director Susie Wolff.
Formula 1 launched F1 ACADEMY to develop women drivers. The series prepares them for progression to higher levels of motorsport. The special therefore has a wider story than results on a timing screen: it asks what it takes to build a career in a field where women have historically had fewer opportunities.
Disney, Formula 1 and ESPN collaboration
Produced in association with ESPN, The Pursuit: F1 ACADEMY extends “Fuel the Magic”, the multi-year collaboration between Disney, Formula 1 and F1 ACADEMY. Disney says the partnership began at the 2026 Chinese Grand Prix and expanded at the Canadian Grand Prix to include F1 ACADEMY, with Minnie Mouse and Daisy Duck used to champion confidence and representation.
Joss Hastings, senior vice president of marketing at Disney Consumer Products, described the documentary as another way to bring that partnership to audiences.
What started with Mickey & Friends and Formula 1® has grown into F1 ACADEMY™ with Minnie Mouse and Daisy Duck, and we’re thrilled to extend our partnership to Disney+ and ESPN with The Pursuit: F1 ACADEMY. Our ambition is to ‘Fuel the Magic’ for Disney and F1 fans through products, experiences and storytelling, and this is an exciting way to share the courage, ambition and heart of these drivers while inspiring the next generation of women in motorsport.
Joss Hastings, SVP Marketing at Disney Consumer Products
Wolff said taking the drivers’ stories to a worldwide audience could have an impact beyond the championship.
Together with Disney+, we can share those stories on a global stage, and we hope they resonate far beyond motorsport and inspire young women to pursue their ambitions fearlessly, no matter the odds.
Susie Wolff, Managing Director of F1 ACADEMY
