Avatar: Fire and Ash lands on Disney+ this June – Disney+ subscribers will soon be able to return to the world of Pandora, with Avatar: Fire and Ash set to make its streaming debut later this month.
The third instalment in James Cameron’s blockbuster franchise will premiere exclusively on Disney+ on Wednesday, 24 June, following its record-breaking run in cinemas.
A billion-dollar box office phenomenon
Released in December, Avatar: Fire and Ash became one of the biggest films of the year, earning an extraordinary US$1.48 billion worldwide.
The visually spectacular epic also claimed the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects, continuing the franchise’s reputation for pushing the boundaries of cinematic technology.
Praised by audiences and critics alike, the film expanded the mythology of Pandora through breathtaking new landscapes, creatures and cultures.
A new threat emerges on Pandora
The latest chapter reunites viewers with Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), Neytiri (Zoe Saldaña) and the Sully family as they continue to navigate life on Pandora.
Now living among the ocean-dwelling Metkayina Clan, the family remains haunted by the loss suffered in Avatar: The Way of Water.
As they attempt to protect those closest to them, the Sullys find themselves drawn into another dangerous conflict.
Their journey introduces audiences to the Tlalim Clan, known as the Wind Traders, while also bringing them face-to-face with a formidable new adversary.
The Mangkwan Clan, or Ash People, harbour deep resentment towards Eywa following the destruction of their homeland by volcanic catastrophe.
As tensions escalate, the Sully family must once again fight for survival.
An all-star ensemble cast
Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldaña reprise their leading roles alongside Sigourney Weaver and Stephen Lang.
The expansive cast also includes Oona Chaplin, Cliff Curtis, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Edie Falco, David Thewlis, Jemaine Clement, Giovanni Ribisi and Kate Winslet.
Returning younger cast members include Britain Dalton, Jamie Flatters, Trinity Jo-Li Bliss, Jack Champion, Bailey Bass and Filip Geljo.
The Avatar collection expands
With the arrival of Avatar: Fire and Ash, Disney+ becomes the home of the complete Avatar collection to date.
Subscribers can also stream the original Avatar, Avatar: The Way of Water and the behind-the-scenes documentary Fire and Water: Making the Avatar Films.
More than a decade after audiences first journeyed to Pandora, James Cameron’s ambitious saga continues to captivate viewers around the globe.
