WHAT: The tenth annual Crunchyroll Anime Awards return to Tokyo, Japan on Saturday, May 23 – marking a decade of honouring the talent and artistry behind the medium’s worldwide impact. The global celebration will encompass a star-studded orange carpet and global livestream with once-in-a-lifetime performances, all in support of honouring anime’s best.
Across the star-studded pre-show and main show ceremony, awards will be given in 32 categories presented by celebrity anime-fan such as Wu-Tang Clan founding architect RZA, acclaimed actor Winston Duke, GRAMMY-nominated recording artist from Puerto Rico Young Miko and K-pop stars BamBam and TEN.
Global icon and long-time anime fan The Weeknd will present Anime of the Year to one of six beloved nominees including:
- DAN DA DAN Season 2
- Gachiakuta
- My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON,
- Takopi’s Original Sin,
- The Apothecary Diaries (season 2)
- The Summer Hikaru Died
Live musical performances from the show will also include DEAN FUJIOKA (Yuri!!! on ICE), PORNOGRAFFITTI (My Hero Academia), ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION (Naruto), and Yoko Takahashi (Neon Genesis Evangelion).
