The Rumour leads new BritBox arrivals this week – The Rumour is now streaming on BritBox Australia, bringing a new mystery thriller to the service this week.
The five-part series is joined by Freddie Flintoff’s Field of Dreams season three, which arrives on BritBox Australia from Friday, 14 August.
For BritBox, the double arrival gives Australian subscribers two very different options: a small-town thriller built around suspicion and paranoia, and a feel-good documentary series led by one of England’s most recognisable cricket figures.
The Rumour
Based on Lesley Kara’s bestselling debut novel, The Rumour follows Joanna, played by Rachel Shenton, as she moves to a small town with her son Alfie.
Joanna is looking for a quieter life, but suspicion grows after she uncovers a rumour about a local child killer hiding in plain sight. When she shares the rumour to connect with other local mothers, the story unleashes paranoia across the community.
The cast also includes Joanne Whalley, Emily Atack, Liza Sadovy and Carryl Thomas.
Freddie Flintoff Returns
Also streaming this week is season three of Freddie Flintoff’s Field of Dreams.
The documentary series follows Flintoff as he uses cricket to connect with disengaged and disadvantaged teenagers. The new season continues the program’s mix of sport, mentoring and personal storytelling.
The Rumour is streaming now on BritBox Australia. Freddie Flintoff’s Field of Dreams season three streams from Friday, 14 August.
