Wentworth: Halfway Home trailer confirms December premiere on BINGE – The gates are opening on a new chapter of the Wentworth story. Wentworth: Halfway Home will premiere on Monday 7 December 2026, with the first episode streaming from 1pm AEDT on BINGE and Foxtel On Demand.

For Australian viewers, the announcement moves the sequel from its first-look stage to a confirmed weekly launch. Katrina Milosevic returns as Susan ‘Boomer’ Jenkins, while Nicole da Silva and Kate Box reprise their roles as Franky Doyle and Lou Kelly. This time, the story follows life after prison rather than another struggle inside Wentworth Correctional Centre.

What is the new Wentworth series about?

Freshly paroled, Boomer arrives at Sal’s Halfway House determined to gain custody of her daughter and build a stable life for them both. Her plans become more dangerous when a body is found. Surrounded by former prisoners, she must decide who can be trusted and whether freedom will prove harder to keep than it was to win.

The halfway-house setting changes the pressure around the returning characters. They are no longer protected or contained by the familiar prison hierarchy, yet their histories continue to shape every alliance. The premise also creates a route for the sequel to introduce new residents while retaining the relationships that made the original drama a long-running success.

Who is in the Wentworth: Halfway Home cast?

Milosevic, da Silva and Box lead the returning group as Boomer, Franky and Lou. Rachel Griffiths joins the ensemble as Moira, with Sophie Lowe as Sam, Alex King as Dee and Chenile Chandler as Lily.

The wider cast includes Nadine Garner, Elaine Crombie, Grace Chow and Sara West. Claude Jabbour, Daniel Henshall, Laura Gordon, Thom Green and Chika Ikogwe also appear in the series.

How to catch up on Wentworth

The original Wentworth premiered on Foxtel in 2013. The Fremantle production reimagined the world of Prisoner for a new generation and went on to screen in more than 170 territories across eight seasons.

Every episode is available to stream on BINGE. Foxtel will also begin a complete catch-up on More Pop-Up Hits, Channel 129, from Wednesday 11 November. That gives audiences almost four weeks to revisit the original series before the sequel begins.

Behind the new Australian production

Wentworth: Halfway Home is a Fremantle Australia production for BINGE. Foxtel and Screen Australia provided major production investment, with financing from VicScreen. Foxtel is handling local distribution and Fremantle is responsible for international sales.

Carly Heaton and Brett Popplewell are executive producers. Jessica Paine is co-executive producer and Dean O’Toole is producer. Daniel Monaghan, Lana Greenhalgh and Joshua Longhurst are executive producers for Foxtel.
