Wentworth: Halfway Home first look reveals nine new cast members – The first glimpse of the Australian drama has arrived, with BINGE unveiling a clip and nine more actors joining Wentworth: Halfway Home. The new chapter is filming in Melbourne for a late-2026 premiere on BINGE and Foxtel.

The reveal lands on 26 October, five years to the day after the final episode of Wentworth aired in 2021. For Australian viewers, it brings the franchise beyond prison walls: Boomer is now on parole, trying to rebuild her life while a new mystery threatens the freedom she has just won.

They join returning favourites Katrina Milosevic as Susan “Boomer” Jenkins, Nicole da Silva as Franky Doyle and Kate Box as Lou Kelly. Previously announced newcomers include Rachel Griffiths as Moira, Sophie Lowe as Sam, Alex King as Dee and Chenile Chandler as Lily.

Nadine Garner said she had long admired the world created by the original series and its Victorian production team:

For many years I had friends and colleagues creating and working on Wentworth…It became a solid fixture of screen work in Victoria. I admired the show from afar and the incredible world that they had built as a team. I never dreamed I would be stepping into this next chapter and am so grateful for the opportunity to carry forward the story for their dedicated audience. It’s a real thrill for me.

What happens after Boomer leaves prison?

Freshly paroled, Boomer arrives at Sal’s Halfway House determined to gain custody of her daughter and make a life for them both. When a body turns up, she must decide whom to trust in a house full of former prisoners. The question is whether she can stay out of prison after the work it took to get out.

The original Wentworth, produced by Fremantle and inspired by Prisoner, premiered on Foxtel in 2013. It travelled to more than 170 territories. TV Central recently reported on the BINGE catch-up campaign ahead of the new series.
