Warner Bros. Discovery reveals Shark Week 2026 highlights – Warner Bros. Discovery has revealed its Shark Week 2026 highlights, with a new line-up of specials available in Australia on Binge, Foxtel and Fetch.
The 2026 programming slate begins on Sunday 16 August with K-Pop Shark Heroes, led by actor and comedian Ken Jeong and GRAMMY-nominated artist Rei Ami.
For Australian viewers, the line-up gives Shark Week another broad local run across subscription TV and streaming. It also keeps Discovery’s long-running factual event programming in front of audiences who now watch across Binge, Foxtel and Fetch.
Shark Week 2026 Highlights
K-Pop Shark Heroes starts Shark Week on Sunday 16 August at 7:30pm. Ken Jeong and Rei Ami team up for a public awareness mission designed to shift perceptions of sharks in East Asia and around the world.
The special uses the reach of K-Pop to educate and empower viewers, while reframing the conversation around sharks and conservation.
Ultimate Shark Dive airs Monday 17 August at 7:30pm. The special follows Red Bull high diver Molly Carlson as she attempts a Shark Week first.
Carlson steps from a hovering helicopter hundreds of feet above the ocean. She then free-falls into the deepest shark cage ever deployed for Shark Week, with sharks circling below.
Jurassic Sharks follows on Monday 17 August at 9:30pm. The special uses artificial intelligence to bring prehistoric sharks back to life, while linking the AI-generated world with real expeditions and living shark species.
Warner Bros. Discovery describes the special as a Shark Week first, built around creatures whose evolutionary story stretches back hundreds of millions of years.

How to Train a Great White airs Tuesday 18 August at 7:30pm. Dr Tristan Guttridge heads to New Zealand to examine whether great white sharks can learn through training principles similar to those used by the US Navy with dolphins.
The special asks whether sharks can respond to cognitive training, cues and tasks in ways that challenge assumptions about shark intelligence.
Jaws Vs. Orca airs Thursday 20 August at 8:30pm. The program looks at the conflict between great white sharks and killer whales, including reports of sharks washing up with their livers removed.
Guttridge also investigates orca behaviour in the Strait of Gibraltar, where killer whales have targeted sailboats by ramming hulls and damaging rudders.
