Dig on BINGE: Amy Poehler and Hugh Laurie lead new comedy – Amy Poehler and Hugh Laurie headline Dig, a new 10-part comedy arriving as a complete boxset on BINGE and Foxtel On Demand on Monday, 23 November. BINGE has released the official trailer for the series, which follows an archaeological expedition in Greece that becomes more adventurous than its team expected.

Australian viewers will have two ways to watch from launch day. The entire series will be available on demand, while Foxtel’s FOX8 will air two episodes each week. That gives subscribers a choice between watching the whole story immediately and following its weekly television run.

What is Dig about?

A group of dedicated archaeologists spends the summer at a dig site in Greece alongside college students whose commitment is rather less certain. When they uncover a rare artefact, the find sends the group on an adventure that moves beyond the work they expected to do. The contrast between the professionals and students sets up the comedy’s central team dynamic.

Poehler and Laurie lead the cast. Geraldine Viswanathan, Antonia Thomas and Fina Strazza also star. Guest performers include Kayvan Novak, Jon Pointing and Bonita Friedericy. Poehler is an executive producer as well as an on-screen lead, returning to a television comedy from a creative team with strong sitcom credentials.

It comes from Universal Television, part of Universal Studio Group.

All 10 episodes arrive on BINGE and Foxtel On Demand on Monday, 23 November. On FOX8, the first weekly double episode starts at 9pm AEDT that night. The on-demand boxset and the FOX8 broadcast are different release patterns, so viewers can choose the format that suits them.
