Way of the Warrior Kid: Chris Pratt film lands on Apple TV 25 November – Chris Pratt, Jude Hill and Linda Cardellini lead Way of the Warrior Kid, an Apple Original film premiering on Apple TV in Australia on Wednesday, 25 November. The official trailer introduces a bullied middle school student whose summer with his uncle becomes a lesson in confidence, discipline and courage.

The film’s premise gives Apple TV a family story built around mentorship rather than a conventional fight-back fantasy. Its central training program comes from a former Navy SEAL, but the lesson he offers the boy is about handling fear and setbacks, not simply winning a confrontation.

Marc and Uncle Jake’s summer

Hill plays Marc, a good kid struggling at middle school. His classmates bully him and he feels behind in schoolwork, physical education and friendships. His injured uncle Jake, played by Pratt, comes to stay with Marc and his mother Sarah, played by Cardellini, while he recovers. Jake is a decorated Navy SEAL, and he decides to help Marc face the difficulties that have made school feel overwhelming.

Jake calls his plan Operation Warrior Kid and bases it on his SEAL training. Rather than teaching Marc how to fight, he shows his nephew what courage means in everyday life. As the two work together, Jake must also confront problems of his own. The relationship between the pair gives the film a story for both younger viewers and the adults watching with them.
