Where’s Wanda? season 2 trailer brings the Klatts back to Apple TV – The Klatts are heading back into trouble when the German-language dark comedy returns globally on Wednesday, 21 October.
Apple TV will launch the eight-episode second season with one episode, followed by a new instalment every Wednesday through 9 December. For Australian viewers, the weekly release keeps the mystery in play across almost two months rather than delivering the whole case at once.
The new trailer makes clear that the family will not be enjoying the quiet reset they hoped for. After the upheaval of the first season, Wanda is apparently discovered standing over a dead body, leaving the Klatts to clear her name and uncover the real killer.
The Klatts return to another mystery
Heike Makatsch returns as Carlotta Klat, with Axel Stein as Dedo, Lea Drinda as Wanda and Leo Simon as Ole. The family believes normality may finally be within reach, but the new crime pulls them back into the secrets and criminal dealings hidden beneath their sleepy town.
Proving Wanda’s innocence will require the Klatts to investigate their neighbours and the wider community again. That gives season two a direct continuation of the show’s central idea: an apparently ordinary family is forced into increasingly extraordinary behaviour when one of its own is in danger.
Returning cast and new faces
Nikeata Thompson joins the ensemble for the new season. Returning cast members include Sam Riley, Alexandra Maria Lara, Harriet Herbig-Matten, Gisa Flake, David Schütter, Palina Rojinski, Suzanne von Borsody, Kostja Ullmann and Devid Striesow.
Frederic Balonier, Sascha Geršak, Torben Liebrecht, Aaron Maldonado-Morales and Anton Dreger also appear. The large ensemble allows the mystery to keep expanding beyond the immediate Klat family as suspicion moves through the town.
Behind the series
Where’s Wanda? is produced by UFA Fiction, a Fremantle company. Oliver Lansley created and wrote the series and serves as executive producer alongside Nataly Kudiabor and Oliver Ossege.
Zoltan Spirandelli co-created the story, while Tobi Baumann and Christian Ditter direct the second season. The production continues Apple TV’s investment in international-language originals designed to travel beyond their home markets.
