Apple TV crime drama Nocturne to premiere in October – Apple TV has unveiled the first look at Nocturne, a new crime drama starring Liev Schreiber, Zazie Beetz and Stephen Graham.
The 10-episode drama will launch with its first two episodes on Friday the 30th of October 2026.
New episodes will then premiere every Friday through to the 25th of December.
Nocturne is based on the internationally bestselling crime novels Lazarus and The Sandman by Lars Kepler.
A dark new crime drama
Nocturne follows Jonah Lynn, played by Schreiber.
Jonah is an ex-soldier turned homicide detective. After years working the tough streets of Philadelphia, he moves to a small town in Western Pennsylvania.
He is searching for a quieter life. However, that peace does not last.
Jonah, his family and the town soon come under attack from Jurek Walter, a diabolically cunning serial killer played by Graham.
As the danger grows, Jonah must protect everything he holds dear.
The search for Jurek’s last missing victim also forces Jonah into a desperate decision. He sends his surrogate daughter, FBI Agent Saga Bauer, up against Jurek.
Beetz stars as Saga Bauer.
That choice places Jonah at the centre of the drama’s biggest question. How far will he go to stop Jurek?
The cast of Nocturne
The series brings together a major ensemble cast.
Alongside Schreiber, Beetz and Graham, Nocturne also stars Bill Camp, Rory Culkin, Chrissy Metz, Poorna Jagannathan and Gary Carr.
Schreiber also serves as an executive producer on the series.
Beetz executive produces through her Sleepy Poppy production company.

The series is created for television, written and executive produced by BAFTA Award winner Rowan Joffe.
John Hlavin developed the series for television. He also writes, executive produces and serves as showrunner.
Tim Van Patten directs the first two episodes and also serves as an executive producer.

Their ten published crime novels have sold 20 million copies globally.

That gives Nocturne a strong international base before it reaches Apple TV audiences.
Nocturne release date
The first two episodes of Nocturne will be available at launch.
After that, new episodes will continue weekly through to Christmas Day.
Nocturne premieres Friday the 30th of October 2026 on Apple TV.
