Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed renewed for season two on Apple TV – Apple TV has ordered another season of its darkly comedic thriller starring Tatiana Maslany. The renewal follows the first season’s run, but Apple has not announced when season two will premiere.

For Australian viewers, the confirmation means Paula’s story is set to continue on Apple TV. It is a renewal announcement, not a new-season launch: there are no local release dates or episode details to mark on the calendar yet. TV Central previously covered the first season’s teaser.

What is Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed about?

Maslany plays Paula, a newly divorced mother caught between a custody battle and an identity crisis. After she believes she has witnessed a crime, her attempt to investigate pulls her into a world of blackmail, murder and youth soccer. The deeper she digs, the more she finds herself confronting a larger conspiracy while trying to hold her family together.

Jake Johnson co-stars in the first season. Its ensemble also includes Murray Bartlett, Dolly De Leon, Brandon Flynn, Jessy Hodges, Jon Michael Hill, Charlie Hall, Kiarra Hamagami Goldberg and Nola Wallace. Apple has not yet specified which supporting cast members will return for season two.

Creator David J. Rosen on the renewal

Creator and showrunner David J. Rosen thanked Apple and the production team, and explained the unlikely origin of the programme’s title:

We are delighted to continue the story of MPG and deeply grateful to Apple and our incredible cast and crew. This is all pretty amazing for a show whose title came from a spam email

David J. Rosen, creator and showrunner

Rosen writes and executive produces the series. David Gordon Green directs and executive produces, while Simon Kinberg and Audrey Chon developed it and also serve as executive producers. Bard Dorros is an executive producer for Anonymous Content. Apple Studios and Counterpart Studios produce the series.

Apple has yet to disclose the second season’s story, filming schedule, episode count or premiere date. The first season is available through Apple TV in Australia.
