Bad Monkey Season 2 trailer brings Vince Vaughn back to Apple TV – Andrew Yancy is heading back into Florida’s strange and dangerous underworld, with Apple TV releasing the official trailer for the second season of Bad Monkey.
The 10-episode season will premiere globally on Wednesday 2 December 2026 with its opening episode. A new instalment will then arrive each Wednesday through 3 February 2027.
For Australian viewers, the return gives Apple TV another established comedy-drama across the summer period. However, season two will not simply adapt another case from the first run. Instead, it launches a new original story built around Yancy’s continuing attempt to regain his detective badge.
A new murder draws Yancy back in
Vince Vaughn returns as Andrew Yancy, who witnesses the murder of one of Florida’s most influential fixers. An ambitious state attorney responds by pairing him with a strait-laced forensic accountant to solve the case.
Yancy sees the investigation as a possible route back to official police work. Before long, though, he is caught in a turf war between rival criminal organisations. The new case also puts him in the path of an erudite mob boss, the boss’s volatile son and a hard-edged young woman who needs his protection.
At the same time, Yancy must deal with his ageing father and the unresolved romantic tension between him and Dr Rosa Campesino. Rosa, played by Natalie Martinez, begins an investigation of her own into a mysterious rash. Elsewhere, a bombastic animal relocation specialist creates another problem when his business threatens the local environment.
Returning and new cast members
Vaughn, Martinez, Charlotte Lawrence and John Ortiz return for the new season. John Malkovich, Yvonne Strahovski and Zavior Phillips join the principal cast.
The guest cast includes Caleb Landry Jones, Nate Jackson, Sofia Boutella, Brent Morin, Joey Avery, Dax Shepard, Sam Jaeger, Margarita Levieva, Peter Billingsley and June Diane Raphael.
