What’s streaming on AMC+, Acorn TV, Shudder and HIDIVE this August – AMC Global Media has outlined its August 2026 streaming slate for Australia.
The month includes new specials, returning crime drama, horror premieres and anime dubs. They will roll out across AMC+, Acorn TV, Shudder and HIDIVE.
Key titles include The Vampire Lestat: One Night Only Live, The Chelsea Detective season four, Queens of the Dead, Hellcat and new HIDIVE English dubs.

AMC+ in August
First, The Vampire Lestat: One Night Only Live premieres Sunday, August 23 on AMC+.
The special was filmed at the Beacon Theatre in New York City. It follows Vampire Lestat, played by Sam Reid, as he makes his final tour stop.
The performance features original music from The Vampire Lestat by series composer Daniel Hart.
Also on AMC+, Age Inappropriate premieres Friday, August 7.
The eight-episode unscripted series follows five couples in extreme age-gap relationships. It looks at family pressure, stereotypes, finances and power dynamics.
In addition, I Think You’re Overthinking It continues with new episodes on Sundays. The season finale arrives on August 16.
Chris Hardwick hosts the pop culture podcast as an audio and video series. Guests include Billy Magnussen, Alison Brie, Nathan Fillion, Jason Ritter, Eli Roth and Lamorne Morris.
Acorn TV in August
The Chelsea Detective returns for season four on Monday, August 3 on Acorn TV and AMC+.
DI Max Arnold, played by Adrian Scarborough, and DS Layla Walsh, played by Vanessa Emme, investigate four new murders in Chelsea.
The new cases move through fashion wealth, aristocratic family secrets and a wellness salon with dangerous truths to hide.
Next, True Justice Mysteries arrives with two feature-length mysteries on Monday, August 31 on Acorn TV and AMC+.
In True Justice Mysteries: Eye for an Eye, the amateur sleuths investigate a school case. They try to clear a mother accused of murder.
In True Justice Mysteries: Deep Cut, the Justice Warriors work to exonerate Marianne over the murder of her missing fiance. They also uncover a counterfeit jewels scheme.
HIP: High Potential Intellectual continues with new episodes on Mondays. The season finale lands on August 17.
The French-language series stars Audrey Fleurot and Mehdi Nebbou. This season, Morgane faces happiness, simplicity and a powerful attraction.
Acorn TV library highlights
Season three of True Crime Story: It Couldn’t Happen Here binge premieres Monday, August 10.
Hilarie Burton Morgan hosts and executive produces the series. It examines murder cases in small American towns where questions remain about justice.
The Interrogation of Tony Martin premieres Monday, August 17 on Acorn TV and AMC+.
The film is based on the true story of Tony Martin. It follows three days of police questioning after the death of Fred Barras.

On Shudder, Queens of the Dead premieres Friday, August 7. It also streams on AMC+.

Then, Hellcat premieres Friday, August 14 on Shudder and AMC+.
Dakota Gorman stars as Lena, who wakes in a moving camper trailer with a terrifying wound. The driver warns her they have one hour to reach a doctor.

Set in 1374, the historical drama follows Oniyasha, the son of Kan’ami. He searches for the meaning of dance during a turbulent era.
