CP: We sat on this panel a week and a half, two weeks ago and were sort of stunned that Reece wasn’t included in the 19 men. Well he’s back boys.

AW: So he’s (Slater’s) basically admitted it, he got it wrong.

CP: Well he did admit that. He knows Reece, he knows his game.

AW: I’ll tell you what, get rid of the bullshit. Like seriously, he has gone backwards since that game won. He hasn’t played to the form that he has.You watch him on the weekend. The standard that he’s producing at the moment, they got beat by the Titans and the Dragons. His body language is poor.

You’ve commentated games up there. How do you not pick him in game one but then pick him in game two?

CP: Look Woodsy, I tend to agree with you in the fact that I think there was an admission internally that maybe it would have been great to have somebody like a Reece Walsh on your bench. Because going into game one, I openly said that the form of Ezra Mam was questionable.

So come a couple of weeks later and to pick Reece is very much of a muchness. The one difference there I do think is if Reece was given the opportunity and for whatever reason found himself out there in the middle of the park playing for Queensland, he’s the type of player that doesn’t take his divots with him. He’ll forget everything that’s just happened and he’ll attack the game the way he is.
