Kayo Sports to premiere Gorden Tallis documentary The Raging Bull – Kayo Sports and Fox League will premiere the new Gorden Tallis documentary Gorden Tallis – The Raging Bull, a 90-minute look at the highs and lows of the rugby league icon’s Hall of Fame career.
The original documentary gives sports fans an inside look at one of rugby league’s most powerful and recognisable figures.
Gorden Tallis – The Raging Bull premieres Sunday, July 5, straight after Sunday Night with Matty Johns, on Kayo Sports and Fox Sports.
Tallis built a career that placed him among the greats of the modern game. His achievements include induction into the NRL and Brisbane Broncos Hall of Fame.
He was also a three-time premiership winner, Clive Churchill Medallist, Queensland State of Origin captain and Australian international captain.
Across his playing career, Tallis played 266 NRL games. He also played seven State of Origin series and earned 36 caps for Australia before retiring in 2004.
The Gorden Tallis documentary will cover his entire playing career. It will also follow him home to Townsville for The Gorden Tallis Cup.
The annual rugby league carnival has been running for more than 25 years. It features more than 80 junior teams and over 1200 players from across Queensland.
The documentary will feature interviews with some of rugby league’s biggest names. Wayne Bennett, Kevin Walters, Matty Johns and Rod Reddy are among those appearing, alongside members of Tallis’s family.
Now a commentator with Fox League and co-host of NRL360, Tallis reflects on where he came from and the people who helped shape his career.
“I’ll never forget where I came from.”
Tallis also points to the belief shown in him by the people around him. He credits figures including Rod Reddy, Brian Smith and Wayne Bennett, as well as his teammates, for helping him become the player and person he became.
“Your teammates and the people around you make you who you are.”
Steve Crawley, Managing Director, Fox Sports, said the documentary reveals another side of Tallis.

The documentary arrives as both a tribute to Tallis’s career and a reminder of the community that helped build him.
For fans, it is a chance to revisit the force, fire and legacy of one of rugby league’s defining modern forwards.
