ESPN secures Jordan Mailata for new NFL series Off The Line – Philadelphia Eagles star and Super Bowl champion Jordan Mailata will join ESPN Australia for Off The Line with Jordan Mailata, a new content series taking viewers inside life in the NFL.
The series gives ESPN Australia a strong local voice for a major NFL season, with Mailata’s journey from rugby league prospect to Super Bowl champion remaining one of the clearest Australian connections to American football’s biggest stage.
Off The Line with Jordan Mailata has been designed specifically for ESPN Australia and will be distributed across ESPN TV, digital and social platforms, including Disney+. The 11-episode season will release every two weeks across the NFL regular season, playoffs and Super Bowl week.
Head of ESPN Asia-Pacific Kylie Watson-Wheeler said Mailata’s rugby league-to-NFL story, football knowledge and personality would make his perspective valuable for Australian audiences.
Mailata said he was excited to take fans inside his world and show a different side of NFL life, from opening week through to the Super Bowl.
The new series sits within a wider ESPN Australia NFL push. The network will deliver a minimum of six NFL games each week throughout the season, along with seven hours of NFL RedZone every Monday, exclusively on Disney+.
ESPN will also build coverage around the NFL Melbourne game between the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers. NFL Blitz: Road to Melbourne will follow the lead-up to the historic game, while a special docuseries titled It All Starts In Melbourne will track the Rams’ preparations before their trip to the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Premiere details: Off The Line with Jordan Mailata premieres Monday, 8 September, exclusive to ESPN.
