ESPN Australia launches LA Rams docuseries ahead of NFL Melbourne – ESPN Australia will premiere It All Starts In Melbourne, an exclusive three-part LA Rams docuseries following the team’s preparations for the historic NFL Melbourne game.
The series gives Australian NFL fans a direct lead-in to one of the biggest American football moments staged locally. With the Rams and San Francisco 49ers set to play the first regular-season NFL game in Australia, ESPN is using the docuseries to frame the match as both a sporting event and a major television moment.

All three episodes of It All Starts In Melbourne will be available on Disney+ from Sunday, 6 September. The docuseries will also air on ESPN at 9.30pm AEST on Sunday, 6 September, immediately after Australia v Turkiye in the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup.
The series follows the LA Rams under head coach Sean McVay, with appearances from Myles Garrett, Puka Nacua, Kyren Williams, Trent McDuffie, Kobie Turner, Jalen Watson and more.
Episode 1: Meet the Team
The opening episode looks at the Rams’ history under Sean McVay, including the road to their 2021 Super Bowl victory, the strength of the offence and the early work of the 2026 training camp.
Episode 2: Super Bowl Contenders
The second episode focuses on the arrival of Myles Garrett, the rise of Kobie Turner, the building of a new-look team and the planning behind the Rams’ trip to Australia.
Episode 3: Melbourne Game
The final episode turns to the divisional showdown with the San Francisco 49ers, revisiting previous Australian trips, the rivalry between the teams and the stakes attached to beginning the campaign in Melbourne.
NFL Melbourne broadcast details
The LA Rams v San Francisco 49ers NFL Melbourne game will be shown live on ESPN and Disney+ on Friday, 11 September. Coverage begins at 8.30am AEST, with kick-off scheduled for 10.35am AEST.
ESPN and ESPN2 are available in Australia and New Zealand via Disney+, Foxtel, Kayo Sports, Fetch TV and Sky NZ. ESPN’s 2026/27 NFL coverage includes a minimum of six live games each week, NFL RedZone, every playoff game and Super Bowl LXI.
