Premier League and WSL Action on Optus Sport – So, it all comes down to this. Two leagues with two of the closest title races in recent years will be settled this weekend as the final round of the Premier League and Barclays Women’s Super League plays out across two jam-packed, not-to-be-missed days.

And every match will be live and exclusive on Optus Sport.

In the Premier League, reigning champions Manchester City will be aiming for their fourth consecutive title – and sixth in the past seven years – when they take on West Ham United at home.

Pep Guardiola’s side know that a win will guarantee them another Premier League trophy, as they now sit two points clear at the top after this morning’s 2-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur.

While in north London, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal side will be hoping to capitalise on any final-day slip-ups by City by beating Everton at home and leap-frogging City at the top to lift their first Premier League trophy since 2004.

Elsewhere, it will be an emotional occasion at Anfield, as third-placed Liverpool sign-off from one of their most successful eras as a club, bidding farewell to iconic manager Jurgen Klopp, who is stepping down at the end of the season.

And for Tottenham’s Ange Postecoglou, he’s hoping to sign off his first season in charge in style with a win, as they travel to bottom-of-the-table and already relegated Sheffield United.

In the Barclays Women’s Super League, the two-horse race for the title involves Manchester City Women – aiming to make it a double win across both leagues – who are looking to hold off the challenge of defending champions Chelsea. Chelsea’s match against Manchester United carries added significance as it marks the end of their successful manager’s tenure, with Emma Hayes leaving the club at the end of the season.

All matches across both leagues will play simultaneously, with the WSL games kicking off at midnight (AEST) on Sunday, May 19, and all Premier League fixtures kicking off at 01:00am on Monday, May 21.

Howard Rees, Head of Optus Sport, said:

“What a weekend of football we have in store for Optus Sport customers this weekend.

“The Premier League and Barclays Women’s Super League have continued to serve up incredible drama and action all season, as well as all the twists and turns of two of the closest title races in recent memory.

“It’s been a joy and a privilege to deliver every match from both leagues again this season and this is a fitting end to one of the all-time great seasons.

“The final day of the football season is a special landmark for football fans, so we’re wishing all teams the best as they look to close out their season with a win.

“Once the final whistles blow across both leagues, fans won’t have long to wait for their next football fix with UEFA EURO 2024 kicking off just 26 days later, and the 2024 Copa America kicking off six days after that – with every match from both tournaments live and exclusive on Optus Sport.”
