UFC Fight Night Perth: Ulberg vs Reyes Live Sunday on ESPN – New Zealand’s Carlos Ulberg has the opportunity to take a major step towards a UFC Light Heavyweight Championship opportunity on a stacked UFC Fight Night Perth card that includes a massive NINE Australian stars in action live on ESPN2.
ESPN viewers are set for over six hours of Octagon action live from Perth this Sunday September 28 with UFC Fight Night: Ulberg vs Reyes showcasing Nine Aussies and Four New Zealand UFC stars across the 15-fight spectacle at Perth’s RAC Arena.
The UFC Fight Night: Ulberg vs Reyes Prelims Card begins at 9am AEST on ESPN2, before the six-fight UFC Fight Night: Ulberg vs Reyes Main Card follows live at 12pm AEST.
#3 ranked Light Heavyweight contender Carlos Ulberg (13-1) will face #7 contender Dominick Reyes in the main event, where the New Zealander hopes to secure a future shot at UFC Light Heavyweight champion Magomed Ankalaev with victory.
Ulberg has been on an amazing run inside the Octagon and has not tasted defeat since March 2021.
The New Zealand Light Heavyweight is on an eight-fight winning run that includes career defining performances against Jan Blachowicz, Volkan Oezdemir, Alonzo Menifield and Jung Da-un.
Sunday’s opponent Dominick Reyes also arrives in Western Australia in winning form, stringing three straight victories in the Octagon.
Reyes has enjoyed victories over Nikita Krylov, Anthony Smith and Dustin Jacoby – all by knockout – to suddenly find himself back in UFC Championship contention.
The American has previously had opportunities to claim UFC gold, but legend Jon Jones and Jan Blachowicz ended his dream. Those defeats led Reyes to four-straight defeats, but
The UFC Fight Night: Ulberg vs Reyes Main Card is filled with Australian and New Zealand stars.
Australia’s Jack Jenkins will face featherweight Ramon Taveras in Sunday’s co-main event.
Jenkins is hoping to respond from defeat in his last UFC appearance back in February and string consecutive Octagon victories together.
Also on the card, is Australian Light Heavyweight Jimmy Crute, who faces Ivan Erslan.
Crute was victorious back in July against Marcin Prachnio as he overcomes a frustrating career period that has seen a win and two draws from his last five UFC appearances.
Fellow Aussie Jake Matthews faces a difficult test against UFC veteran Neil Magny, as does compatriot Tom Nolan in a lightweight contest with Charlie Campbell.
Rounding out Sunday’s UFC Fight Night: Ulberg vs Reyes main card is a heavyweight affair between New Zealand’s Justin Tafa and Louie Sutherland.
ESPN will bring all the explosive action from the 14-fight card live, with every fight across the UFC Fight Night: Ulberg vs Reyes card available live on Disney+, Foxtel, Kayo Sports, Fetch TV and Sky NZ.
