For Australian fight fans, the bout gives Tszyu a high-profile home-ring moment against a former unified three-belt world champion. It also sits inside a deep Australia v USA card, with Liam Wilson and Callum Peters also in action.
Tszyu ready for Spence Jr
Tszyu enters the fight with a 27-win, three-loss record. Spence Jr arrives with 28 wins and one loss, and is returning to major boxing after his 2023 defeat to Terence Crawford.
Tszyu said he has had an excellent preparation and believes a sold-out crowd can help him continue to build his legacy.
Spence Jr said he respects Tszyu as a fighter, but wants to show the world that he is back.
Big undercard
The card also features a super-featherweight showdown between Liam Wilson and Stephen Fulton.
Wilson said the fight is a major moment in his career. Victory could open the door to a world title opportunity later this year.
Australian middleweight prospect Calum Peters also returns. He faces undefeated Argentinian Ivan Ricardo Actis.
