Game One between the Florida Panthers and Edmonton Oilers is live Thursday June 5 at 10am AEST on ESPN.
Their clash in the 2024 Stanley Cup Final delivered one of the most amazing series in league history.
Florida raced out to a 3-0 lead and looked assured of sweeping the series, before the Oilers climbed off the canvas to win the next three games and force a deciding game seven.
It would be the Panthers who prevailed, in a tight 2-1 victory. Sam Reinhardt securing the NHL crown with his tenth goal of the 2024 playoffs.
The 2025 edition is just the 12th Stanley Cup Final rematch in National Hockey League history.
Edmonton is looking to end the drought for Canadian teams lifting the Stanley Cup, a streak that extends back to 1993.
Florida have claimed both regular season showdowns again Edmonton this National Hockey League season.
The Panthers prevailed 6-5 in December, before another slender 4-3 win against the Oilers in February.
Edmonton enters the Stanley Cup Final for the ninth time, in the process becoming just the eighth team to reach the championship decider after going two games down in their opening NHL playoff series.
Florida is looking to go back-to-back, having lifted the Stanley Cup last season. They are just the ninth franchise to reach three consecutive finals and second in the past 40 years.
Whilst Florida will enter Game One on the road in Edmonton, the Panthers will be buoyed in the fact that they have won their past five playoff games on the road.
