Pacers, Knicks, Timberwolves and Thunder clash in NBA Conference Finals Live on ESPN – Just four teams remain in the race to be crowned NBA Champions as the Indiana Pacers meet the New York Knicks in the Eastern Conference Finals and the Minnesota Timberwolves clash with Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference Finals, with every game live on ESPN.
The Eastern and Western Conference Finals will determine the participants in the 2025 NBA Finals, where a new NBA champion will be crowned.
Wednesday May 21 sees the Oklahoma City Thunder and Minnesota Timberwolves begin their Western Conference Finals series at 10.30am AEST, live on ESPN.
The Minnesota Timberwolves secured back-to-back NBA Western Conference Finals appearances after eliminating the Golden State Warriors.
Minnesota blitzed the Warriors in five games led by star Anthony Edwards.
The Oklahoma City Thunder meanwhile survived a seven-game series against Denver, claiming a comprehensive 125-93 rout of the Nuggets in the decider.
Oklahoma’s win moved the Thunder into the Western Conference Finals for the first time since Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook led the franchise there in 2016.
The 2025 version of OKC stars Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Williams and Chet Holmgren.
The Anthony Edwards-Shai Gilgeous showdown will be a battle of generation next, and an expected arm wrestle for the Magic Johson Trophy.
Minnesota and Oklahoma split the regular season games 2-2 and the Western Conference Finals look set to go down to the wire.
Thursday May 22 tips off the Eastern Conference Finals, where the Indiana Pacers meet the New York Knicks at 10am AEST.
The Indiana Pacers showed they are a clear championship contender, eliminating the top seed Cleveland Cavaliers in five games.
Despite the heroics of Pascal Siakam and Tyrese Haliburton in Indiana, all the hype is for the Knicks.
New York is in the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2000.
In a rematch of 25 years ago, ironically it was the Pacers who stood in the way of an NBA Finals appearance back then.
The feeling in New York City though is that this time things will be different. Jalen Brunson, OG Anunoby and Karl-Anthony Towns are the new heroes in town.
The Knicks clinched their series against the defending NBA champion Boston Celtics in six games – the last, a 38-point win – the largest ever playoff win in Knicks history.
Indiana has the form guide on their side though, having claimed the last three series between the two sides.
