AFLW Finals fever takes charge on Seven and 7plus – Four epic contests headline week one action on Seven and 7plus.
The 2025 AFL Women’s Finals Series roars into action on the Seven Network this weekend with four blockbuster matches, featuring the game’s biggest and best stars over three epic days.
The Finals Series kicks off tonight when minor premiers the North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos face Hawthorn in a qualifying final at Ikon Park. The live and free coverage of Qualifying Final One starts at 7.00pm AEDT on 7mate and 7plus Sport.
Then, tomorrow afternoon, Carlton will host the West Coast Eagles in a do-or-die elimination final at Ikon Park from 1.00pm AEDT, live and free on Seven, 7mate and 7plus Sport.
On Sunday, footy fans will enjoy an epic double-header featuring:
- Melbourne v Brisbane Lions in Qualifying Final Two at Ikon Park from 1.00pm AEDT on Seven, 7mate and 7plus Sport.
- Adelaide Crows v St Kilda in Elimination Final Two at Norwood Oval from 3.00pm AEDT on Seven, 7mate and 7plus Sport.
AFLW’s #1 commentary team will lead Seven’s Finals coverage, with this weekend’s line-up boasting a group of the game’s greatest voices in women’s footy, including the competition’s most decorated player and 7AFL expert commentator, Erin Phillips.
Alongside Phillips will be Seven’s exemplary team of experts and callers including Jason Bennett, Libby Birch, Nigel Carmody, Nat Edwards, Jack Heverin, Melissa Hickey, Abbey Holmes, Kate McCarthy, Alister Nicholson, Sarah Olle, Jo Wotton, as well as 7NEWS Sport Reporter, Kate Massey.
Ahead of the Finals Series, Erin Phillips said:
“There’s so much young talent in the competition right now, players who can genuinely change a game in a moment.
“You look at someone like Jasmine Fleming at Hawthorn or Sophie McKay from Carlton they’re fearless and thrive under pressure. Finals bring out the best in players like that.
“It’s the big-stage performers who really stand up in finals. You think of Jasmine Garner, Ash Riddell, Kate Hore and Courtney Hodder; they’ve all had incredible seasons and know what it takes to lift their teams when it matters most,”
– she said.
“It’s hard to look past North Melbourne. They’ve been a powerhouse since they entered the competition and they’re showing no signs of slowing down now. With a home crowd cheering them on at Ikon Park and the longest winning streak in AFL/AFLW history, they have truly earned the top of the table spot.”
Following a highly anticipated first week of Finals, Seven’s Kate McCarthy, Kate Massey and Riley Beveridge will return for Talking W at 7.30pm AEDT Tuesday, 11 November on 7plus Sport.
Ahead of an epic second week of Finals footy, the hosts will dissect the biggest stories heading into week two of the Finals Series, while casting a spotlight on the most prominent headlines from the first week of Finals.
All episodes of Talking W are available for on-demand streaming on the AFL Women’s Hub on 7plus Sport, along with match previews and reviews, player interviews, bonus player access and features on demand.
Footy fans can stream Seven’s weekly AFL Women’s matches live and on demand on 7plus, while fans in NSW, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia can also watch every game involving teams from their home states live and free on Seven and 7plus Sport across every round of the season.
