WA Voices for WA Footy Fans – Seven’s local team calls the Western Derby live from Optus.
It’s WA’s ultimate rivalry, and this Sunday Seven Perth will call Derby 62 live from the ground, with voices who understand exactly what it means to WA footy fans.
Seven’s commentary team will be led by 7NEWS Perth Sports Presenter Ryan Daniels and commentator Mark Readings, with Dani Shuey boundary‑side, supported by an all‑star lineup of WA footy legends who have fought this very battle on the field.
Ben Cousins, Shaun McManus, Mark LeCras and Michael ‘Sonny’ Walters will bring their on‑field experience into the commentary box, adding depth and unrivalled insight to Seven’s coverage.
This is a team with WA footy DNA, calling a WA game, for WA fans. They know the history, the pressure points and the moments that don’t show up on a stats sheet.
Seven West Media WA CEO, Maryna Fewster said:
“When it comes to the Western Derby, local knowledge matters. Seven is proud to deliver the game with a commentary team that understands WA footy, calling live from the ground and sharing insight that comes from having lived this rivalry.”
Seven’s live and free coverage begins at 2.30pm with the Alinta Energy Pre‑Game, where viewers will gain exclusive insight from both coaches, as well as access inside the rooms.
From 3.00pm, all eyes turn to the field as the West Coast Eagles host the Fremantle Dockers, with every key moment called by voices who are just as invested as the fans.
