Wednesday Ratings – Fisk tops non news overnights and Total TV

Analysis for Total TV (23 November, 2022) and Overnight (30 November, 2022) ratings.

TOTAL TV

Seven News was #1 with 1,295 000 viewers, an increase of 3%. Seven News at 6:30 was #2 with 1,281 000 and was also up 3%. Home and Away was #7 overall, but moved to #1 in its slot with 883 000 and was up 23%. Code 1: Minute by Minute ended its season with 454 000 and was up 6%. The Chase Australia sat out of primetime but was a strong lead in for Seven News with 752 000, up 3% and landed at #12. The Chase Australia – 5pm was #18 with 469 000 viewers, a rise of 4%. Sunrise was #25 overall but continues to be #1 at breakfast with 376 000 viewers and was up 4%.

With the FIFA World Cup on and Fisk screening, Nine News 6:30 had to settle for #5 with 922 000, an increase of 4%. Nine News was #6 with 896 000, a rise of 4%. Nine has coded A Current Affair into two parts – the 7pm component was on 837 000 and was up 8% to land at #9. The Farewell special from 7:30pm was #10 with 767 000, up 7%. In reality, the entire hour was devoted to Tracy Grimshaw’s farewell. Country Home Rescue with Shaynna Blaze is turning into a little hit for Nine at #16 with 581 000 and an increase of 24%. Hot Seat was #19 with 458 000 and was up 4%, whilst Hot Seat – 5pm was #29 with 316 000 and rose 4%. Tipping Point was #24 with 379 000 and increased by 5%. Nine’s Afternoon News was #27 with 334 000 and was up 3%. Today did not make the Top 30.

Love Island Australia started with 38 000 in overnights but rose 844% to be #26 overall with 340 000 fans.

Claremont: A Killer Among Us (Part 1) was best for 10 at #21 with 447 000, a rise of 20%. The Project 7pm was on 394 000 and saw an increase of 4%. 10 News First was #28 with 326 000 and was up 2%.

Fisk was the big winner being #3 overall for the night with 1,106 000 viewers and saw its audience increase by 59%. ABC News was #8 but #2 in its slot with 859 000 and saw an increase of 4%. 730 was #11 with 757 000 viewers and was up 5%. Hard Quiz was #13 with 690 000 viewers, an increase of 4%. Question Everything has been strong this season, last week earning the #15 spot and increasing by 12% for an audience of 642 000. Would I Lie to You had 399 000 viewers and was up 11%.

SBS had a strong night with the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The France v Australia match was #4 overall with 981 000 and was up 38%. Post match coverage was #17 with 469 000, up 27%. Morocco v Croatia was #14 with 649 000 fans and was up 49%. The Germany v Japan match was #30 with 307 000 and was u 106%.

Analysis

Nine News had a rare win across the network and was #1 overall with 749 000 viewers and had wins in Sydney and Brisbane. Nine News 6:30 was #2 with 728 000 viewers with wins in Sydney and Brisbane again. Nine made a last minute amendment to swap in a new episode of Hot Seat, whilst Seven had the Cricket running into Seven News and no episode of The Chase Australia screening in any market. A Current Affair was #6 overall and #2 behind ABC News with 537 000 viewers. Country Home Rescue with Shaynna Blaze was watched by 332 000 viewers and sat at #14. Dream Listing Byron Bay had an audience of 206 000. A repeat of Escape to the Chateau was on 145 000. Nine News Late had 103 000 viewers. 46 000 viewers stayed up late to watch Family Law.

Seven News had to settle for #4 without a lead from The Chase Australia with 707 000 viewers and had wins in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. Seven News at 6:30 was #3 with 709 000 and again had wins in Melbourne, Adelaide and of course, Perth. Seven’s Cricket – First Test: Australia v West Indies had its highest session at #11 with 391 000.

The Project 6:30pm started off Carrie’s farewell episode with 221 000 viewers. That figure rose to 347 000 for The Project 7pm as viewers said their final goodbye. The Dog House Australia repeat was on 311 000 viewers and landed at #15. A second repeat of The Dog House Australia had 236 000. My Life is Murder picked up its ratings with 119 000 viewers.

ABC News was #5 overall but #1 in its slot with 544 000 viewers. 730 was #8 with 476 000. A repeat of Hard Quiz was #9 with 472 000. The season final of Question Everything was #10 with 424 000 viewers. The season final of Would I Lie to You was watched by 298 000 viewers and was #16. There will be two ‘Unseen Bits’ specials over the next 2 weeks. Adam Hills: The Last leg had 165 000 viewers.
