Seven News was #3 for the night with a reach audience loss of 91 000 and an average audience loss of 76 000 over 9News. Home and Away was #7 with 1 316 000 (854 000). RFDS was #8 with 1 245 000 (777 000). Off the Grid with Colin and Manu was #12 with 1 017 000 (484 000). House of Wellness was #26 with 502 000 (172 000). Chicago Fire was #86 with 192 000 (73 000). Lopez v Lopez was #190 with 79 000 (33 000).

Sunrise – Early – 479 000 (227 000)

The Chase UK – 387 000 (199 000)

Seven’s National News at Noon – 331 000 (177 000)

Bridge of Lies – 298 000 (146 000)

Blankety Blank – 287 000 (160 000)

Seven News with Alex Cullen – 205 000 (179 000)

9News was #2 for the night. A Current Affair was #4 with 1 784 000 (1 167 000). The Block was #1 with 2 130 000 (1 251 000). Sydney 2000: The Best Ever was #5 with 1 631 000 (516 000). The Grand Tour aired in Sydney and Brisbane and was #38 with 366 000 (97 000). Footy Furnace aired in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth and was #41 with 334 000 (130 000). 9News Late was #76 with 216 000 (118 000). A repeat of Court Cam aired in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth and was #137 with 113 000 (50 000).

10 News+ was #40 for the night. Deal or No Deal was #33 with 403 000 (115 000). Dogs Behaving (Very) Badly Australia was #20 with 576 000 (252 000). The Gilded Age was #30 with 449 000 (139 000). A repeat Elsbeth was #57 with 260 000 (78 000). 10’s Late News was #112 with 140 000 (76 000). 10 News+ encore was #123 with 129 000 (45 000).

ABC

ABC News was #11 for the night. 730 was #10 with 1 176 000 (714 000). Hard Quiz was #14 with 829 000 (594 000). Mother and Son was #17 with 653 000 (348 000). An encore of The Assembly was #31 with 438 000 (169 000). Guy Montgomery’s Guy Mont Spelling Bee was #50 with 287 000 (108 000). If You’re Listening was #92 with 177 000 (95 000). ABC Late News was #84 with 194 000 (57 000).

How the Networks Analysed their Own Performance

  • The Block was Australia’s No. 1 program with People 25-54 and People 16-39. It was also a dominant timeslot winner with Total People across all five metro capitals. It secured a National Total TV Reach of 2.130 million, a Total TV National Audience of 1.251 million – up 17.8% year-on-year and a BVOD Audience of 282,000 – up a huge 80.8% year-on-year.
  • 9News was Australia’s No. 1 program with GS18+ and Total People. It was also the No. 1 news in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane with Total People. The combined national bulletins registered a National Total TV Reach of 2.044 million and a Total TV National Audience of 1.312 million (up 14.1% year on year). On 9Now, it secured a BVOD Audience of 165,000 – up a huge 75.5% year-on-year.
  • A Current Affair dominated the 7.00pm timeslot across Australia with Total People and all key demographics. It had a National Total TV Reach of 1.784 million and a Total TV National Audience of 1.167 million – up 12.5% on the same night last year. On 9Now, it registered a BVOD Audience of 147,000 – up by 70.9% year-on-year.
  • Tipping Point Australia was the No.1 afternoon game show across Australia and in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide with Total People. It registered a National Total TV Reach of 1.415 million and a Total TV National Audience of 742,000 – up 13.3% on the same night last year. On 9Now its BVOD Audience of 92,000 – was up an impressive 87.8% year-on-year. 
  • Sydney 2000 – The Best Ever secured a National Total TV Reach of 1.631 million and a Total TV National Audience of 516,000. On 9Now its BVOD Audience registered 70,000. 
  • Today was the breakfast program of choice with Total People in Sydney and Brisbane. It achieved a National Total TV Reach of 806,000, a Total TV National Audience of 320,000 – up 2.9% year-on-year. On 9Now its BVOD audience was 49,000 – up 48.5% year-on-year.
  • The 9Network was the No.1 network on Wednesday across the 5 City Metro with Total People and all key demographics.
  • 9Now recorded the No.1 shares across the CFTA BVOD platform on Wednesday across Australia with People 16-39.

Off The Grid With Colin And Manu: National reach 1.02 million, national audience 484,000. Up 9% on last week.

Sunrise Wednesday: #1 breakfast program. National reach 893,000, national audience 396,000. 24% more viewers than Today.
