Seven News was #1 for the night with a reach lead of 176 000 and an average audience lead of 113 000 over 9News. Home and Away was #6 with 1 391 000 (901 000). My Kitchen Rules – Finale was #2 with 1 847 000 (1 129 000). The special, Defying Gravity: Curtain Rises on Wicked was #13 with 912 000 (288 000). Alert: Missing Persons Unit was #45 with 326 000 (122 000).

Nine

9News was #3 for the night. A Current Affair was #5 with 1 458 000 (992 000). A repeat of Travel Guides was #4 with 1 494 000 (585 000). The Grand Tour was #11 with 998 000 (298 000). 9News Late was #32 with 430 000 (187 000).

Love Island Australia (9GO) – 345 000 (187 000) with 165 000 on BVOD.

Deal or No Deal was #37 with 400 000 (217 000) The Project was #21 with 614 000 (270 000). Taskmaster Australia was #16 with 780 000 (334 000). The Cheap Seats was #14 with 848 000 (436 000). Law & Order: SVU was #24 with 593 000 (195 000).

ABC News was #10 for the night. 730 was #7 with 1 235 000 (726 000). Headliners was #17 with 724 000 (338 000). Solar System with Brian Cox was #26 with 576 000 (241 000).

  • 9News was the No.1 news bulletin with Total People in the three largest markets of Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. The combined national bulletins secured a National Total TV Reach of 1.838 million and a Total TV National Audience of 1.144 million – up 10.9% on the same night last year. On 9Now, its BVOD Audience of 95,000 was up a massive 79.2% year-on-year.
  • A Current Affair dominated the 7.00pm timeslot with Total People across the 5 City Metro and in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. It achieved a National Total TV Reach of 1.458 million and a Total TV National Audience of 992,000. On 9Now, it recorded a BVOD Audience of 75,000.
  • Tipping Point was the No.1 afternoon game show with Total People across the 5 City Metro and in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide. It recorded a National Total TV Reach of 1.219 million and a Total TV National Audience of 652,000, lifting the timeslot by 39.3% when compared to the same day last year.
  • Love Island Australia recorded a BVOD Audience of 165,000 – up 26% year-on-year.
  • Travel Guides Encore registered a National Total TV Reach of 1.494 million and a Total TV National Audience of 585,000. On 9Now, it recorded a BVOD Audience of 51,000.
  • The Grand Tour registered a National Total TV Reach of 998,000 and a Total TV National Audience of 298,000.
  • Today was the breakfast show of choice with Total People in Melbourne and Brisbane. It recorded a National Total TV Reach of 790,000 and a Total TV National Audience of 328,000. On 9Now, its BVOD Audience was 37,000 – up 32.1% year-on-year.
  • 9Now was the No. 1 CFTA BVOD platform with People 16-39.

Taking a fun look at 2024 in our final episode of the season, The Cheap Seats hosts Melanie Bracewell and Tim McDonald were joined by Mel Tracina and comedy royalty Tom Gleisner. The team trolled through the headlines that gripped Australians and the world in 2024.

The Cheap Seats:

  • 848,000 total national viewers reached.
  • #1 in its timeslot in 25 to 54s and 16 to 39s.
  • 36.9% commercial share in 16 to 39s, 31.6% in 25 to 54s.
  • Up 6% week-on-week.
  • Series: Biggest BVOD audiences ever. 36,000 viewers up 13% compared with the 2023 series average.

Taskmaster contestants went wild with rackets and heavenly voices, while smear campaigns and hiding places were created. The contestants were tasked with bringing in an object that if they were “Pompeii-d” whilst holding, future civilizations would question.

Taskmaster Australia:

  • 780,000 total national viewers reached.
  • Series: Biggest BVOD audiences ever. 62,000 viewers, up 3% compared with the 2023 series average.
