Analysis

Seven

Seven News was #2 with wins in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. Seven News at 6:30 was #3 with wins in Adelaide and Perth. Home and Away was #7 with 424 000 viewers. This was the average of the 7pm and 7:30pm episodes. Home and Away – Late was #10 with 384 000 viewers, for the 8pm episode. Seven repeated the special, The Best of the Best and Worst of Red Faces for #19 and 223 000 viewers. This was third in the slot behind ABC and Nine. A repeat episode of Mrs. Brown’s Boys aired at 10pm for 114 000 viewers. An encore of The Front Bar: All Sports Edition had an audience of just 50 000 at 10:45pm.

Nine

Nine News was #4 with wins in Sydney and Brisbane. Nine News 6:30 was #3 with wins in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. A Current Affair was #5 overall, but #1 in its slot with 552 000. RBT was #8 with 412 000 viewers. The comparisons between RBT and Home and Away are difficult because of the episode coding of Home and Away. Let’s call it a draw! A repeat of Paramedics was #12 and won its timeslot with 328 000 viewers. A repeat of Australia Behind Bars had 163 000 viewers. An interesting choice by Nine considering the network has unaired episodes of Police After Dark and Casualty 24/7 that do well in that slot. Nine also has an episode of Emergency up their sleeve that has not aired in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. Nine News Late had 119 000 viewers. Emergency Call aired late night with 88 000 viewers. Another NBC burn off, Council of Dads had 38 000.

10

The Project 6:30pm had 184 000 viewers. The Project 7pm was at 214 000. Taskmaster Australia was #14 with 305 000. For the most part, it was #4 in its slot. However, it was the #1 show last night overall in 16-39 and #4 in 25-54. Special – The Montreal Comedy Festival: Hannah Gatsby and Friend had 140 000 viewers. Law & Order: SVU was moved again to 9:30 where 102 000 tuned into the new episode. SVU had been rating better than the specials at 8:30 so its disappointing to see the show in this slot. After next week’s episode, 10 is taking at least one week off in scheduling new episodes. A repeat of SVU at 10:30 had an audience of 89 000.

ABC

ABC News was #6 for the night, #2 in its slot. 730 was #11 with 374 000. The final in the repeat series of You Can’t Ask That was #18 with 226 000. Foreign Correspondent returns next week. The second of four episodes of Grand Designs: House of the Year was #16 and was #2 in its slot with 247 000. A repeat of Joanna Lumley’s Hidden Caribbean had 185 000 viewers.

7mate was equal second last night with the movie, U.S Marshalls doing well at #17 with 72 000 viewers.
