Analysis for Total TV (6 October, 2022) and Overnight (13 October, 2022) ratings.
TOTAL TV
The Block had a special airing on Thursday night last week and uplifted by 38% to 1, 348 000 viewers. Paramedics was up 15% to 669 000, whilst A+E After Dark rose by 10% to 359 000.
Seven News at 6:30pm was the #1 program overall, adding 3% for a total audience of 1, 361 000 viewers. Home and Away’s first two episodes of the evening added 24% to 909 000, whilst the 8pm episode grew by 28% to 888 000 viewers. The first of four episodes of Kath and Kim grew by 8% for a total audience of 315 000.
The Real Love Boat Australia had some good news for 10, increasing its audience by 40% to 320 000. Gogglebox was up 31% to 729 000.
Foreign Correspondent on the ABC rose 8% to 529 000 viewers, with Q+A up the same amount to 370 000.
The Handmaid’s Tale is huge in Total TV increasing by a mind blowing 424% to 534 000.

Analysis
Nine News was second to Seven News across the capital cites but the margin in Sydney was just 1000 viewers at 6pm. RBT had 380 000 viewers at 7:30pm. Paramedics actually increased on its lead in, scoring 408 000 viewers. A+E After Dark followed with 251, 000, which is a strong number given the day and slot.
Seven News won across Australia and in all capital cities. Home and Away had 455 000 viewers. There was split scheduling across the network from 7:30pm with Sydney and Melbourne talking the WBBL on the main channel (the rest on 7mate) whilst Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth had Border Security repeats and Kath and Kim on the main channel. The WBBL had a combined 5 cap city total of 137 000. Kath and Kim dropped below 100 000 without the main channel exposure in the two largest markets.
Gogglebox moved to the 7:30pm slot and was handsomely rewarded with 557 000 viewers, which was the top non news show of the night. The Real Love Boat actually increased its audience from the last episode at 205 000.
Foreign Correspondent on the ABC had 332 000 viewers and Q+A had 233 000, with special guest Erin Brockovich.
