Analysis

The 2022 FIFA World Cup match between Argentina and Australia was #1 and watched by 964 000 viewers for SBS, which is an extraordinary number given its early hours broadcast. The post match coverage was #4 with 647 000 viewers.

Seven News was #2 with 827 000 viewers with wins in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. The highest session in Seven’s Cricket First Test – Australia v West Indies Day 5 was #8 with 386 000 viewers. The movie, The Rock had an audience of 129 000.

Nine News Sunday was #3 with 668 000 with wins in Sydney and Brisbane. The second season launch of Snackmasters was #9 with 379 000. If the show can get a 20% bump in Total TV, that will be a respectable number for the slot and this time of year. The ‘summer series’ of 60 Minutes actually improved on its lead in, placing #7 with 413 000. Nine News Late – Sunday had 249 000 viewers.

The Sunday Project started with 184 000 at 6:30pm but rose to 248 000 at 7pm. The Graham Norton Show had 230 000 viewers. NCIS: Hawaii continues on 10 with new episodes, this week on 156 000.

ABC News Sunday was #5 with 576 000 viewers. A repeat of Death in Paradise remains strong placing #6 with 469 000. The movie, Judy had 239 000.
