Analysis
Nine News started off the night with 709 000 viewers with a win in the Brisbane market. Nine News at 6:30pm was up on the 6pm half hour with 712 000 with the same market win of Brisbane. A Current Affair won its slot and placed #6 overall for the night at 589 000 viewers. The Block was #3 overall but #1 non news at 903 000. Under Investigation with Liz Hayes had 312 000 viewers. A repeat of Suburban Gangsters had 170 000 viewers.
It was up and down for the Nine multi channels. 9Gem was at a massive 9.6% thanks to the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 match attracting 323 000 viewers. However, the new young line-up on 9GO was very poor. We all know that Love Island Australia is massive on digital, however Nine would be disappointed with 33 000 viewers. There were just 2000 viewers in Brisbane. The multi channel attracted just 1.1%
Seven News was #1 overall for the night at 941 000, whilst the 6:30pm half hour was #2 at 916 000. Home and Away was #10 at 445 000, looking again at big increases in Total TV. Australia’s Got Talent had 410 000 viewers to land at #12. 911 had 211 000, which on face value looks poor, however, the show will receive a 50% increase in Total TV next week and is a lot cheaper than what the opposition has in the same slot. S.W.A.T had 130 000 viewers.
The Project 6:30pm at 191 000 viewers but that figure rose to 298 000 at 7pm. The Traitors had 224 000 at 7:30pm, but then Have You Been Paying Attention rose to 431 000. Ghosts had 177 000.
Another consistent night of viewing on the ABC with ABC News on 578 000, 730 on 454 000, Australian Story on 407 000, Four Corners on 338 000 and Media Watch on 378 000. Planet America was on 224 000.
