Better Homes and Gardens Summer was #9 with 535 000, an increase of 4%. Sunrise was #11 with 405 000, a boost of 4%. Seven’s Cricket: Big Bash League: Sydney Thunder v Adelaide Strikers was #12 with 399 000, a boost of 1%. Seven’s Cricket: Big Bash League – Melbourne Stars v Hobart was #14 with 371 000. The Chase Australia – 5pm was #15 with 371 000, growth of 3%. Seven News at 4:30 was #19 with 291 000, strengthening its overnights by 2%. Seven News at 4 was #23 with 249 000, bolstering its audience by 2%. Sunrise – Early was #25 with 240 000, an upsurge of 5%. The Morning Show was #27 with 215 000, an improvement of 4%. The movie, Christmas at Maple Creek (repeat) was #28 with 199 000, expanding its viewership by 6%. The Chase UK was #30 with 192 000, an enhancement of 5%.
Nine News 6:30 was #3 with 781 000, an uplift if 4%. Nine News was #4 with 748 000, up 4%. A Current Affair was at #10 with 521 000, a rise of 5%. Hot Seat was #13 with 378 000, an upswing of 3%. Tipping Point was #16 with 369 000, a lift of 7%. Nine’s Afternoon News was #17 with 322 000, an increase of 3%. 2022 FINA World Short Course Championships was #20 with 274 000, a boost of 5%. Hot Seat – 5pm was #21 with 270 000, growth of 3%. Today was #22 with 268 000, strengthening its overnights by 8%.
10 News First was #18 with 296 000, bolstering its audience by 2%. The Project 7pm was #24 with 249 000, an upsurge of 6%.
A repeat of Vera was #5 overall but #1 non news with 721 000, an improvement of 18%. ABC News was #6 with 698 000, expanding its viewership by 4%. Gardening Australia was #7 with 674 000, an enhancement of 15%. News Breakfast was #26 with 231 000, an uplift of 5% but that does not include those watching on ABC News. The Drum was #29 with 196 000, up 5%.
TOTAL TV – 25-54
Better Homes and Gardens was popular in this demo placing #5 with 146 000, a rise of 7%. Sunrise was #7 overall for the whole day with an impressive 131 000, an upswing of 7%. The Graham Norton Show – Encore made its way into the Top 30 for 10 placing #18 with 70 000, a lift of 8%.
OVERNIGHT RATINGS
Analysis
Seven News was #1 with a clean sweep in all markets. Seven News at 6:30 was #2 and almost had a clean sweep but lost in Melbourne by 1000 viewers. Better Homes and Gardens Summer had 411 000 and placed #7. Woolworths Carols in the Domain completely dominated for Seven with 513 000 viewers and was #3 overall and #1 non news.
Nine News 6:30 was #4 and snuck a tiny win in Melbourne. Nine News was #5 and could not claim any 5 city metro wins. A Current Affair had to settle for #8 with 389 000. Taronga: Who’s Who in the Zoo was #14 with 216 000. The movie, The Holiday was #18 with 186 000.
The Project 6:30pm was #30 with 127 000. The Project 7pm was watched by 139 000 for #25. An encore of The Graham Norton Show was #48 with 91 000.
ABC News was #6 and #1 in its slot. All Creatures Great and Small Christmas Special was #9 with 373 000. A repeat of Vera was #11 with 318 000.
