TOTAL TV
Seven News (6pm) was #1 in last Friday’s Total TV rankings, rising 2% for an audience of 1, 288 000. Seven News (6:30pm) was #2 overall and together with the 6pm half hour, were the only two programs to attract more than one million viewers – the latter also up 2% for 1, 235 000 viewers. Better Homes and Gardens was #1 non news in prime time attracting an audience of 687 000, up 5%. The movie, Knives Out was up 4% to 302 000. Outside prime time, The Chase Australia (5pm) was up 3% to 448 000, whilst the 5:30pm half hour was up 3% to rank #7 overall with 688 000. Sunrise was up 4% to 395 000 whilst the early component of the show was up 5% to 229 000. Also making the top 30 was Seven News at 4, up 2% to 267 000 and the 4:30pm half hour of the news at 288 000, up 2%.
Nine News was #3 overall at 879 000, up 4%, whilst the 6:30pm half hour was 870 000, also up 4%. A Current Affair was second in its slot and #6 overall at 711 000, up 4%. Taronga: Who’s Who in the Zoo rose 8% for a total audience of 455 000. The movie, The Intern went up 4% to 415 000. Outside prime time, Hot Seat (5pm) rose 4% to 281 000 and the 5:30pm half hour went up 4% to 446 000. Nine’s Afternoon News had an uplift of 3% to 329 000 and landed ahead of Seven’s Afternoon News. Tipping Point also made the top 30, rising 6%to 401 000. Today rose 7% to 309 000.
10 News First rose 2% to 350 000. The Project (6:30pm) had an audience of 231 000, up 5%, whilst the 7pm portion went up 4% to 322 000. The Living Room, which is moving close to its final episode drew 356 000 viewers, up 5%. The Graham Norton Show shot up 17% to 305 000. The Bold and the Beautiful made the top 30 with 241 000, up 5%.
ABC News sat at #5 with 785 000, up 4%. Gardening Australia went up 15% to 687 000. Frankly is doing well overall on Friday nights being #4 for the night non news prime time with an audience of 558 000, up 14%. The biggest mover in the top 30 was All Creatures Great and Small, up a massive 47% to 603 000.

Analysis
Seven News (6pm) was #1 overall at 765 000 viewers with wins in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. The 6:30pm half hour of the news was #2 overall with 738 000 viewers, with wins in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. Better Homes and Gardens was #7 overall with an audience of 376 000 viewers. The movie, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel had 222 000 viewers. A late encore of Australia’s Got Talent had 53 000 viewers.
Nine News (6pm) was #3 overall with 629 00 viewers and a win in Brisbane/ The 6:30pm portion of the news had 619 000 with wins in Sydney and Brisbane. The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 match between Australia and England was watched by 257 000 viewers.
The Project (6:30pm) had 156 000, but rose to 225 000 at 7pm. The Living Room had 240 000, whilst The Graham Norton Show was watched by 184 000 viewers. An encore of Have You Been Paying Attention had 139 000.
Gardening Australia had 376 000 viewers. Frankly was #14 overall for the night at 259 000 and All Creatures Great and Small had 247 000 viewers.
