Analysis for Total TV (23 December, 2022) and Overnight (30 December, 2022) ratings.

TOTAL TV – Total People

Seven News was #1 with 1,097 000, a rise of 3%. Seven News at 6:30 was #2 with 1,036 000, an upswing of 3%. Woolworths Carols in the Domain was #3, but #1 non news with 865 000, a lift of 12%. Better Homes and Gardens Summer was #7 with 680 000, an increase of 4%. The Chase Australia was #9 with 588 000, a boost of 3%. Sunrise was #12 with 397 000, growth of 4%. The Chase Australia – 5pm was #14 with 356 000, strengthening its overnights by 3%. Seven News at 4:30 was #18 with 283 000, bolstering its audience by 2%. Sunrise – Early was #22 with 259 000, an upsurge of 4%. The Morning Show was #23 with 249 000, an improvement of 4%. Seven News at 4 was #24 with 245 000, expanding its viewership by 2%. The movie, The Christmas Swap was at #29 with 187 000, an enhancement of 9%. Seven Morning News was #30 with 184 000, an uplift of 3%.

Nine News 6:30 was #4 with 723 000, up 4%. Nine News was #5 with 703 000, a rise of 5%. A Current Affair was #10 with 586 000, an upswing of 5%. Hot Seat was #13 with 395 000, a lift of 3%. Taonga: Who’s Who in the Zoo was #15 with 345 000, an increase of 12%. Nine’s Afternoon News was #16 with 313 000, a boost of 3%. A repeat of Tipping Point was #19 with 274 000, growth of 7%. Today was #20 with 265 000, strengthening its overnights by 7%. The movie, The Holiday was #21 with 265 000, bolstering its audience by 6%. Hot Seat – 5pm was #25 with 239 000, an upsurge of 3%. Pointless was #27 with 210 000, an improvement of 4%.

10 News First was #17 with 297 000, expanding its viewership by 2%. The Project 7pm was #26 with 214 000, an enhancement of 4%.

All Creatures Great and Small Christmas Special was #6 for ABC with 684 000, an uplift of 27%. ABC News was #8 with 671 000, up 4%. A repeat of Vera was #11 with 584 000, a rise of 19%. A repeat of Grand Designs New Zealand was #28 with 192 000, an upswing of 6%.

TOTAL TV – 25-54

Woolworths Carols in the Domain was #1 with 250 000, a lift of 22%. The movie, The Holiday was #10 with 101 000, an increase of 9%.

OVERNIGHT RATINGS


Analysis

Seven News was #1 with wins in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. Seven News at 6:30 was #2 with wins in the same markets. Better Homes and Gardens Summer was #8 with 337 000 viewers. The movie, Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring had 103 000 watching.

Nine decided to screen the United Cup tennis tournament on its main channel, which led to a third place finish for the night, behind Seven and ABC TV. The coverage was watched by 173 000 fans.

The Project 6:30pm had 115 000 watching on 10. The Project 7pm was on 146 000. The movie, Transformers had 92 000 tune in. The movie, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen was on 58 000.

ABC News was #6 for the night. A Christmas special for Death in Paradise was #5 for the night with 484 000 viewers. The movie, Philomena was #16 with 161 000.
