Jeffrey Archer: A Life in Words airs on News24 at 9pm – News24 will premiere a 30-minute interview with Jeffrey Archer on Tuesday 6 October at 9pm AEDT. National Affairs Correspondent Jonathan Lea spoke with the bestselling author and former politician for what the broadcaster describes as one of his final television interviews.
The timing gives the programme particular significance for Australian viewers. Archer’s death at 86 was announced just as his final novel, Adam & Eve, reached publication. Rather than a retrospective assembled entirely after his death, the News24 special lets audiences hear Archer reflect on his own life and work.
What Jeffrey Archer: A Life in Words covers
The conversation looks back over more than 50 years of writing, his bestselling novels and his public life. Lea’s interview offers a direct account of the career that took Archer from politics to an international readership. News24 has not announced a separate trailer or preview clip for the programme.
Archer’s official website describes Adam & Eve as his final novel. It also credits his books with sales of more than 300 million copies in 47 languages. Those figures help explain why a late-career television interview is of interest well beyond readers of any single title.
