Merry Christmas from TV Central

TV Central is on hiatus as the site moves to the next phase

Hello Gorgeous People

I will be taking a one week holiday so there will be no content published over that time.

TV Central had a soft launch on 6 October this year. In around 10 weeks, the site has published 950 posts and that is not including the 345 guides that have been added to the site. It was important during this first phase to get the design element of the site completed, have a good range of content available and to fix any bugs and issues with the site.

We now enter the second phase of the site. In the last few days the font of the site has been changed for a better reading experience, a search bar has been added to the top of the website and all podcasts are available through Acast, Spotify, Amazon Music, YouTube, Podchaser, JioSaavn, Deezer, Apple, Stitcher, Samsung, iheartradio and just today, TV Central is on Google podcasts. A ‘load more’ element has been added to the front page, so you can see more stories.

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome Adrian onboard at TV Central as the site administrator / SEO expert / Digital Marketer. Over the next few weeks, Adrian will be making some changes such as:

  • optimizing the speed of the site
  • making images clearer and cropped correctly
  • Main channel guide links will be added to front page
  • 7Bravo guides will be added
  • Advertisements will start appearing on site (sorry!)
  • Improvement in social media strategy
  • Links to various platforms for podcasts
  • Subscriber newsletter option

There are several other television and media sites around and for the most part, I compliment rather than compete with what they do. Mumbrella and Mediaweek are favourite reads of mine but the content I do is different to what they do.

In terms of differences with other websites, I aim to:

  • Have a more detailed ratings analysis each day (including the weekend)
  • Regular podcasts with all tv related fields (reality shows, news, drama, comedy, executives and golden age television podcasts)
  • Guides (manually done guides that can be changed daily when amendments come through)
  • Streaming reports for 16 providers with more to be added in the coming months
  • provide a weekly news program through 6 News
  • In most cases, news will filter through before most sites as I publish when I receive it as I am able to work across the day.
  • cover more news – not just the ones suspected to bring the most traffic

TV Central aims to be a ‘one stop station’ for all TV related material.

I will appear on Perth radio station 98.5 on a fortnightly basis in 2023 with more opportunities are under discussion. Thank you to 6PR in Perth for giving me a call when news breaks.

There are many fantastic executives and publicity people that have supported TV Central from day 1 and I thank them immensely.

I will return on 29 December for a ‘catch up’ day and then posts will resume and be back to normal on Friday 30 December. There will be no slow down of posts throughout January and no other significant breaks.

And to the readers that have backed TV Central from day 1 – I know who you are and that will not be forgotten.

From myself (and now Adrian), have a wonderful Christmas and let’s get ready for a big 2023 in television.

Merry Christmas!

Aaron
