AFL Grand Final on Channel 7 broadcast details – Your home of the AFL Grand Final. Unbeatable live, free and exclusive coverage on Seven and 7plus Sport.

An incredible 2024 AFL season is set for a nail-biting finish this Saturday, when the Sydney Swans face the Brisbane Lions at the MCG for the 2024 AFL Grand Final, live, exclusive and free on Seven and 7plus Sport.

On the biggest day on the Australian sport calendar, the Seven Network will have every angle of the premiership decider covered, from early morning into the night for footy fans in every corner of the country.

Melbourne Premiership captain Max Gawn will join Seven’s Grand Final coverage as part of the Grand Final Brunch, hosted by 7NEWS Melbourne’s Rebecca Maddern while Collingwood 403 game player Scott Pendlebury will join the Grand Final Countdown panel, hosted by Luke Darcy.

Football’s #1 commentary team will field an unbeatable Grand Final line-up on Saturday, featuring Brian Taylor, James Brayshaw, Bruce McAvaney, Hamish McLachlan, Luke Hodge, Matthew Richardson, Abbey Holmes, Dale Thomas, Max Gawn, Luke Darcy, Shaun Burgoyne, Jude Bolton, Scott Pendlebury, Chris Johnson, Rebecca Maddern, Joel Selwood, Campbell Brown, Cameron Ling, Kate McCarthy and Katie Brown. 7NEWS football reporters Mitch Cleary, Theo Doropoulos and Kate Massey will present all the breaking news throughout the day.

Viewers will enjoy more than 12 hours of coverage on Channel 7, 7mate and 7plus Sport across Saturday, kicking off at 7.00am AEST with the Weekend Sunrise AFL Grand Final Day Special and continuing non-stop until the Grand Final post-match presentations and celebrations wind up at after 7.00pm AEST.

Before the first bounce, Seven will take fans live to one of the most highly anticipated AFL Telstra Pre-Game Entertainment shows in history, headlined by international pop superstar Katy Perry. With a production that will include innovations never before seen on the Grand Final Day stage, viewers will not want to miss a moment.

Katy Perry will also be on Sunrise tomorrow morning for an exclusive interview ahead of her AFL Telstra Pre-Game Entertainment performance – and before she takes to the stage on Saturday, she will sit down with 7AFL expert commentator Abbey Holmes to discuss the preparations for the epic performance.

Fans will also be able to live stream the Grand Final on 7plus Sport on any device. Viewers should download the app now for phone, tablet and smart TV to ensure they don’t miss a minute of the action.

7NEWS.com.au is the place to be for all AFL news in the lead up to, and during, Seven’s Grand Final Day coverage, with a live rolling blog covering all the action on Saturday as well as the 7NEWS.com.au AFL Match Centre.

Seven’s Head of AFL and Sport Innovation, Gary O’Keeffe, said:

“For the first time since South Melbourne and Fitzroy met in the 1899 VFL Grand Final, the Swans and the Lions will travel south for the biggest day on the Australian sporting calendar – and we couldn’t be more excited.

“As Australian Rules football continues to reach new heights in Queensland and New South Wales, it’s fitting that the two best teams of 2024 herald from the northern states. If you thought State of Origin was big, wait until you see this rivalry. It’s going to be massive.

“With a state-of-the-art broadcast including the most cameras ever used, paired with football’s most astute commentary and hosting team, the 2024 AFL Grand Final is set to be the biggest, most impressive Grand Final Day broadcast ever seen. Do not miss a minute, right here on Seven and 7plus, Your Home of Footy,”

– he said.

Seven’s Grand Final week also includes Round Five of the AFLW Competition tomorrow night, when Carlton host the North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos at Ikon Park, from 7.00pm AEST on 7mate and 7plus Sport.

Then, the footy action continues when Talking Footy hits the screens of Seven at 9.00pm on Channel 7 and 7plus Sport in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth and 10.00pm in Sydney and Brisbane.

Hosts James Brayshaw, Tim Watson, Joel Selwood and Trent Cotchin will take viewers into the inner sanctum of the Grand Final teams, including an interview in studio with Brisbane Lions coach, Chris Fagan, as well as a cross to Sydney’s Tom McCartin.

On Thursday morning, Australian music icon Shannon Noll will hit the Sunrise stage to perform his reimagined hit What About Free, the anthem to 7plus Sport’s latest campaign.

Then, on Thursday night, Mick Molloy, Sam Pang and Andy Maher will be front and centre at The Front Bar for the annual Grand Final Special at 8.30pm nationally on Channel 7 and 7plus.

Mick, Sam and Andy will be at the bar to round out the AFL season, alongside an epic host of footy stars including Carlton Football Club coach Michael Voss, West Coast Eagles livewire Harley Reid, AFL Chief Executive Officer Andrew Dillon, and Nova’s Ryan “Fitzy” Fitzgerald. Footy fans will also be treated to a live performance by iconic Australian band Birds of Tokyo.

On Friday morning, fans can join Matt Shirvington, Natalie Barr, Mark Beretta, Sam Mac, Edwina Bartholomew and Katie Brown live from 5.30am AEST at Federation Square in Melbourne for a special AFL Grand Final edition of Australia’s #1 breakfast show, Sunrise.

Ahead of the monumental clash, fans can catch a glimpse of the 2024 AFL Premiership Cup and watch live performances from Tina Arena and Australian football music legend Mike Brady as he performs Up There Cazaly, while the best dressed fans can enter to win tickets to the 2024 AFL Grand Final.

On Friday night, footy fans will be treated to an epic Grand Final edition of AFL Armchair Experts with Adam Cooney, Kate McCarthy, Tommy Sheridan and Cam Luke, as well as the Western Bulldogs v St Kilda AFLW Round Five match, live from Whitten Oval at 7.00pm AEST on Channel 7, 7mate and 7plus Sport.
On Grand Final day, viewers can start their morning with Weekend Sunrise’s AFL Grand Final Day Special live from the MCG, including appearances from iconic football stars of today and yesteryear and all the colour and excitement from the ‘G.

Following Weekend Sunrise on Saturday, Seven’s Grand Final Day coverage will feature:

• Seven’s pre-game coverage from 9.00am AEST will take fans into the annual Grand Final Brunch, hosted by Rebecca Maddern and featuring Max Gawn, Shaun Burgoyne and Cameron Ling.

• The 2024 AFL Grand Final Countdown kicks off from 10.30am AEST, when host Luke Darcy will be joined by recent 7NEWS Melbourne signing Scott Pendlebury, alongside 7AFL’s Jude Bolton and Kate McCarthy, plus many special guests.

• Kicking off from midday AEST, Hamish McLachlan will take viewers to every moment live at the MCG for the Grand Final Pre-Game Show. Before the premiership decider, fans will enjoy pre-match entertainment headlined by Katy Perry, while Mike Brady will perform Up There Cazaly.
