Tombs Of The Egyptian Priestesses on SBS and SBS on Demand – A team of Egyptian archaeologists has discovered a previously unknown cemetery, opening a window onto a unique period in the history of Ancient Egypt.
The artifacts found in the tombs tell us the burials belong to elite women that lived during a forgotten period of ancient Egyptian history; a time when the Kushite Kings from Nubia controlled Egypt through the power of a female regent: the God’s Wife of Amun.
We follow the excavation of the tombs in real time and witness the discovery of wonderful artifacts belonging to elite women who lived during the 8th Century BCE.
