Channel 10’s The Traitors: Kween Kong murdered, Shane Gould banished – The Traitors has claimed its first two victims, with Kween Kong murdered overnight before Shane Gould was banished at the season’s opening Round Table.
The double departure showed the two very different ways a contestant can leave the castle. Kween was removed because her instincts were becoming dangerous to the Traitors. Shane, meanwhile, was sent home by Faithfuls who mistakenly believed her experience made her a threat.
It was a brutal start to the game following TV Central’s review of The Traitors premiere. The first breakfast exposed the cost of the Traitors’ opening move, while the Round Table quickly revealed the paranoia and alliances forming among the remaining players.
Kween Kong becomes the first murder victim
Kween Kong did not return for breakfast after becoming the first contestant murdered by the Traitors. Her growing suspicions about Kirby Bentley had made her a dangerous presence inside the game.
Removing Kween prevented those suspicions from spreading through the group. However, her absence may also encourage the Faithfuls to reconsider the conversations she had before leaving.
After learning that her time in the castle was over, Kween said she knew the Traitors had eliminated strong competition before the game could properly begin.
“How cowardly of you. This is just rude!”

Why was Shane Gould banished?
The attention then shifted to Shane Gould as the players entered their first Round Table. Tension surrounding Ian “Dicko” Dickson’s proposed alliance helped expose divisions within the group, but Shane soon became the main target.
Shane had been named the most virtuous player on the previous day. Her decision to take Cam Merchant’s key to the mansion subsequently placed a sizeable target on her back.
Her previous win on Australian Survivor also concerned the other contestants. Shane had played down that victory, describing it as only one part of a career that includes five Olympic swimming gold medals and decades of work in water safety.
Once the votes were counted, Shane revealed that she had been a Faithful. Her banishment therefore handed the Traitors an early victory and left the group no closer to identifying the people working against them.
“I don’t apologise for my big-ness.”

Suspicion continues to build around Kirby
Although the Faithfuls failed at their first Round Table, Kirby remains under scrutiny. Kween’s suspicions were strong enough to make her the first murder target, and any details she shared could return to trouble the Traitors.
The Traitorous trio must now manage the fallout while avoiding behaviour that connects them to Kween’s exit. At the same time, Shane’s mistaken banishment gives them more room to shape the next vote.
