Network 10’s interim Skydance oversight emerges as Australian leadership takes shape – A new account has emerged of who sits above Network 10 in the merged Skydance group. Deadline reports that CBS chief operating and financial officer Bryon Rubin has, at least temporarily, taken charge of Network 10 and Britain’s 5. Skydance has not publicly confirmed that interim assignment.

That distinction matters for Australian viewers and the local television industry. The group has confirmed a broad international role for JB Perrette. But Deadline says Network 10’s free-to-air reporting line runs through Rubin to Skydance TV co-chair George Cheeks, not through Perrette. Meanwhile, Network 10’s existing Australian president, Beverley McGarvey, remains listed in her local role.

Who oversees Network 10?

According to Deadline, Rubin is temporarily responsible for both Network 10 and 5 and reports to Cheeks. The outlet expects a longer-term arrangement in the coming weeks. Skydance declined to comment on Deadline’s account. Rubin’s specific interim remit is therefore reported, not an appointment formally announced by the company.

This is an oversight role above the Australian business, not an announced replacement for the people running it day to day. Paramount Australia and New Zealand’s leadership page still identifies Beverley McGarvey as President of Network 10, Head of Streaming and Regional Lead for Australia and New Zealand. Skydance has not announced any change to McGarvey’s local responsibilities.

The change follows the departure of Kevin MacLellan, the former Paramount international executive whose portfolio included Network 10. His exit left a question about where Australia’s broadcaster would sit in Skydance’s new international structure. Deadline’s reporting offers the clearest answer so far, albeit an interim one.

JB Perrette’s confirmed international role

Skydance’s official leadership listing names JB Perrette as Co-Chair and Chief Business Officer of Skydance TV and Skydance DTC. His remit includes global distribution, advertising sales, content sales, direct-to-consumer strategy, marketing and business operations. Skydance’s leadership announcement also places him over international streaming and networks at a group level.

Content sales president David Decker reports to Perrette, along with advertising and distribution executives Jay Askinasi and Ray Hopkins, according to Deadline. Decker handles sales and licensing. That differs from the interim Network 10 oversight Deadline has attributed to Rubin. The two reporting lines illustrate why a single name does not yet answer every question about Skydance’s Australian operations.

What it means for Paramount+ and HBO Max in Australia

Perrette’s portfolio covers the commercial and direct-to-consumer businesses internationally, making his appointment relevant to Paramount+ and HBO Max as well as to Skydance’s other services. But an executive reporting chart is not a consumer announcement. The company has not announced an Australian service merger, new streaming brand, price change or distribution deal.

For now, Perrette is the confirmed global commercial chief. Deadline identifies Rubin as the temporary free-to-air overseer. McGarvey remains the publicly listed local Network 10 and streaming leader. Skydance has not yet announced a permanent international network structure. It has also not announced practical changes for Australian viewers or staff. TV Central will update this picture when Skydance makes those decisions public.
