2027 Paramount Upfront: Channel 10 and Bunnings launch The Great Aussie Christmas – Channel 10 and Bunnings are launching The Great Aussie Christmas Presented by Bunnings Warehouse, a four-part home and lifestyle series hosted by Matty J and Laura Byrne. It begins on 10’s free streaming service on Sunday 1 November, before a full Channel 10 broadcast on Wednesday 25 November at 8.30pm and a Paramount+ release the following day.
The program is part of Paramount Australia’s 2027 upfront announcement, but its first episodes arrive this November. That distinction matters for viewers planning to watch: short segments will drop weekly online first, while the complete show has a later free-to-air television slot. It is also a new kind of branded series for the broadcaster, built around an optional shopping feature on connected televisions.
Four homes preparing for Christmas
Each instalment follows a time-poor family getting its home ready to welcome friends and relatives. The practical challenges include tired front yards, crowded backyards, unfinished entertaining areas and rooms that do not yet feel festive. The work builds toward four separate Christmas celebrations, with the homes prepared for new family traditions.
Matty J and Laura Byrne will guide the transformations. Rather than treating Christmas as a purely decorative makeover, the series is pitched around achievable changes to spaces Australians use for gatherings. Bunnings is the presenting partner and its products are part of the transformations.
How the shopping feature works
Paramount Australia calls the series Australia’s first purpose-built shoppable television show. On supported connected TV viewing, its Pause To Shop function is intended to surface relevant Bunnings products when a viewer pauses an episode. KERV.ai’s Moment Match Engine powers the feature, which Paramount says will let viewers move from an idea on screen to a product without leaving the program.
The shopping element is the commercial story behind the announcement. It places products inside a lifestyle show and connects that viewing experience to a purchase path. Viewers who simply want to watch can still follow the families’ projects; the release does not describe purchasing as necessary to view the series.
Tamar Hovagimian, Paramount Australia’s director of national advertising partnerships, described the collaboration as a way to put the sponsor into the content while offering practical value to viewers.
The partnership with Bunnings is a standout example of content partnerships at their best, putting the brand at the heart of the experience while delivering genuine value to viewers.

Bunnings’ marketing and retail media director Justine Mills said the aim was to show feasible ways to prepare a home for Christmas and make the featured products easier to find.
Christmas is one of those moments when Australians want their homes to feel welcoming and ready for family and friends, but finding the time to bring those ideas to life isn’t always easy.

PHD and OM Content helped develop and deliver the project. Paramount’s national digital sales director Diane Ho says the partnership shows how streaming content and commerce can be connected, while PHD’s Ryan Ambrose points to a closer link between inspiration and buying. Their comments frame the series as both an entertainment commission and a test of a new advertising format.
