Tonight | Ramy on SBS 2: Ramy travels to Egypt for the season finale – Ramy Hassan travels to Egypt in the final two episodes of the first season, looking for family, faith and a sense of direction. Ramy airs Wednesday 7 October 2026 at 10.45pm on SBS 2 and SBS On Demand.

The double episode moves Ramy away from his New Jersey neighbourhood while keeping the series’ central question in view: how he navigates his identity and beliefs.

Ramy on SBS 2: a journey in Egypt

In episode nine at 10.45pm, Ramy visits family in Egypt. He hopes to see the country and pray at local mosques, while his Americanised cousin Shadi prefers parties. Ramy also meets a woman who turns out to be Shadi’s sister and his own cousin.

Episode ten follows at 11.20pm. Ramy sets out to visit his grandfather in the countryside, but the car breaks down and he walks the rest of the way. After arriving, he finds his grandfather dead.

Following the funeral, Ramy and his cousin Amani attend a Sufi hadra. Their apparent romantic feelings create another uneasy turn as the season ends. The two episodes complete the first-season run on SBS 2.
