Recap | Married at First Sight Season 12 Episode 13 – the latest episode recap on TV Central from Channel 9. Watch the show on 9Now.

It’s the morning after a very messy Married At First Sight Dinner Party and everyone is still feeling pretty queasy after multiple loop-de-loops on the Jacqui and Ryan ride.

“Once again, I’m confused,” Jamie declares.

At this point, that is everyone’s permanent state-of-being when it comes to the experiments most hot-and-cold pairing.

Speaking of, there’s another new development: Ryan’s surprised Jacqui with flowers and she is ecstatic.

Unfortunately for Adrian, he’s going to have to put in a little more effort to earn Awhina’s forgiveness after he shut her down last night.

Still, their conversation is not as awkward as Sierah and Billy’s lack of conversing in their apartment.

You see, they were intimate last night and now they can’t look each other in the eye.

Down the hall, Tony’s ears are still ringing from Morena’s rather loud showing at dinner.

She’s fuming about being challenged by the rest of the group without Tony standing up for her – oh, and also still about his need for ‘Tony time’.

The group arrive for the Commitment Ceremony and the awkward energy between everyone who is not Carina and Paul or Jamie and Dave is palpable.

John Aiken is absolutely itching to get stuck into the drama – let’s go!

Morena and Tony

We’re starting off strong tonight!

The experts give Morena the floor and she delivers a stunning monologue about the reasons why she came into this experiment.

Tony agrees with her assessment of his behaviour and everyone says the phrase “Tony time” an overwhelming amount of (Tony) times.

When Mel asks about Tony’s disappearing acts, Morena calls him “Houdini”. This gets laughs from the crowd… but they quickly regret it.

Welp! (Nine)

Mel asks her what she’s done poorly in the relationship so far and she can offer no examples.

Tony suggests they are both equally to blame for their issues, while Morena claims it’s 80 per cent his fault. Her 20 per cent? Talking.

She says she’s passionate, and John says it’s more like… abrasive.

Oof.

He points out her habit of pointing, which gets a biiiiig nod of approval from ‘Little Boy’ Paul in the audience.

Morena didn’t even realise she was like this, and Tony points out that it is part of why he leaves.

She is responsive to the feedback, but reveals she has written ‘leave’. Tony on the other hand has chosen to ‘stay’, meaning they will stick around – hopefully with less Houdinis and wagging fingers in the weeks to come!

Jamie and Dave

In the least shocking news ever, Jamie and Dave are thriving.

They each feel completely safe, secure and able to be open with each other. To sum it up, they’re disgustingly happy.

Jamie’s even considering her future as a dog mum.

They each write ‘stay’ – duhhhhhh!

Carina and Paul

Let’s keep the gushing going.

Paul thanks Alessandra for a “spicy” Intimacy Week. He explains their fantasy night together, but conveniently leaves out the detail about her pouring chocolate on his nipples.

Long story short, they’re perfect. ‘Stay’ and ‘stay’, of course!

Jacqui and Ryan

In the wise words of Dave, strap yourselves in!

Ryan immediately apologises for his “crass, ungentlemanly-like” comments at the workshop and compliments how beautiful Jacqui looks tonight.

Alessandra is confused. She says last night she observed them in many different states, from united front to mortal enemies.

Jacqui says receiving flowers helped her forget the past and look to the future… but then Alessandra says the dreaded words.

“Photo.

“Ranking.

“Challenge.”

NOOOOOOO.

Dave pipes up to say Ryan should make his partner feel special everyday.

“Yeah, special, correct. The word she used was beautiful,” he replies.

OH MY GOD RYAN WHAT ARE YOU DOING.

WHEN WILL YOU LEARN????

”I’m not asking for Ryan to be dishonest, I’m asking for him to find a way to put me first,” Jacqui suggests.

MAFS 2025 Jamie, Billy and John Aiken
Huh? (Nine)

The more it is explained, the less everyone understands. John even does a judgey face coupled with a shocked shake of the head. It’s an incredible, rare combo.

“I need you to help me understand what the hell is going on,” John suggests.

It’s then Jacqui says that doesn’t know if she and Ryan would be compatible in the real world because of their differences.

“I don’t want to stop him from reading fiction books, and I want to keep reading non-fiction,” she says, as an example.

MAFS 2025 John Aiken
Mood. (Nine)

But in the end, the experts can see they’re compatible. When asked if they like each other, they both wholeheartedly agree – so there’s hope yet!

Jacqui likes Ryan and Ryan likes Ryan. They’re both ‘staying’ and thus we will remain on this rollercoaster for at least another week.

Rhi and Jeff

Ahhhhhhh, some sweet, sweet relief. If Jacqui and Ryan are a rollercoaster, Rhi and Jeff are a lovely float down a lazy river.

Things are progressing nicely, but they still need to get over the “little hurdle”, ah sorry make that a “not-so-little gift”, of intimacy.

“The big gift!” Mel and Alessandra laugh.

How good is a saucy joke amongst experts.

Of course, they both ‘stay’.

Awhina and Adrian

Awhina is feeling “unseen” in her marriage because Adrian didn’t even realise she was the one making their bed everyday.

Oops.

EXCLUSIVE: The MAFS 2025 stars spill on their most shocking dating stories

This has had her dwelling on whether they could have a future outside of the experiment. Adrian argues that her telling him that makes him not want to show up like she wants, because what’s the point?

John’s like, ‘Nah uh, buddy that’s the exact problem right there’.

After some more back-and-forth, John just straight up asks if they want to be in a relationship with each other.

Adrian says “of course”, but Awhina takes a little more time and a lot more tears to answer.

”I’m going to say I think I do,” she responds.

She again explains why her fears have been taking over and this time, Adrian seems to properly hear it. They both write ‘stay’ and Awhina jokes maybe this week he can start validating her by saying she’s the most beautiful girl in the world everyday.

Sierah and Billy

Unlucky last is our awkward duo of Sierah and Billy.

Billy admits they were intimate again and is now extremely confused about where they’re at. He thought they were working their way towards being more physically affectionate, but Sierah doesn’t agree.

“Last night, it was like a drunken fumble in my opinion,” she admits.

He needs more of an emotional connection, and Sierah admits she’s not keen to open up further about her past to aid that.

Alessandra asks if she’s been open with anyone else in the group about her experiences.

“Ahh, Ash and Adrian, actually I had,” she says.

Billy’s surprised, and sad it wasn’t him she opened up to.

MAFS 2025 Billy
???? (Nine)

Sierah claims to have told Billy, but he doesn’t recall that at all.

Adrian explains that the conversation just flowed from a discussion about not wanting to open up during the Confessions Week letter task.

Awhina has also been blindsided by this revelation and asks if Adrian also opened up to Sierah, and he says he did.

MAFS 2025 Adrian and Awhina
Awhina was clearly not expecting this. (Nine)

Billy doesn’t feel like his vulnerability has been reciprocated and is now just really, really confused.

Adrian tries to defend it by saying they felt more comfortable speaking without cameras.

“I’m sorry but that’s a cop out. The cameras are not there at night when you’re sleeping next to each other,” Alessandra shoots back.

Sierah admits she worries that Billy will see her as “damaged goods” if she opens up, which he assures her would never be the case.

Alessandra urges them to both share more with each other to progress the relationship.

Thankfully they still have the opportunity to work through this, as they both write ‘stay’.

Grab your best heels and buckle your seatbelts, tomorrow night we’ve got ANOTHER wedding and another rollercoaster to enjoy!

Yep, we have some late arrivals! See you at 7:30pm to see their grand entrance.
