Carina and Paul dove head first into both snorkeling and their marriage, while Jamie and Dave‘s romantic connection is only temporarily stained by fake tan leaking all through her bag.
On K’gari, one pair are having bigger issues.
They’ve been married for about two days, but Eliot is pretty sure that is enough time for him to know Lauren is not the one for him. She perseveres with conversation, but is put off by his insistence that there’s nothing he could learn from this experience because he is (allegedly) perfect.
MAFS EPISODE 2 RECAP: One bride’s ‘worst nightmare’ comes to life as groom’s brutal confession is caught on camera
Shockingly, they’re not the ones in the worst shape right now either. Katie and Tim arrive in Tasmania to discover their honeymoon suite has a bathtub surrounded by glass, which Tim is deeply and personally offended by.
Meanwhile, Katie is hopeful that something can grow if they just let their guards down, and avoid bathing.
Now, it’s time to meet our next brave singles!
Awhina and Adrian’s wedding
Awhina is a 30-year-old single mum from Perth and no, there aren’t two of her. She’s a twin!
She became single after ending a 15-year relationship with the father of her six-year-old son and is looking for a curious, masculine partner to help her grow after feeling stagnant for a long time.
Besides having dark features and a manly aura, she wants a family-orientated man who will accept her special sisterly-bond with twin Cleo… and hold up, what’s this?
THERE ARE TWO OF THEM AS WELL.
Adrian, on the left, is Awhina’s match. A 30-year-old sports bag designer, he’s been single for four years and is ready to find a loving, compassionate partner to share his life with.
“If a spark is there from the beginning with these two, I think it can be a very fiery and passionate relationship,” expert Alessandra Rampolla suggests, declaring them “ones to watch”.

But before we even get to the wedding, we watch Awhina and Cleo struggle to open a Champagne bottle and Adrian and James struggle to tie a tie.
Fair play. These two are perfect for each other.
As Awhina’s bridal party arrive at the ceremony, Cleo greets her sister’s groom and groomsmen… and then very quickly double-takes.
Everyone is very excited. Twinception!
Awhina arrives and with an excited squeal and an oversized bouquet to the face, this wedding finally gets underway.
Before long, Adrian makes a gaffe during his vows… not that he realises.
“I’m not a one-man package. I come with a beautiful six-month-old… Aussie shepherd. Don’t worry, I don’t have kids,” he says.
Awhina worries that the comment means her being a mum is a dealbreaker, but she also doesn’t want to hide the best part of her life from him. She’s going to have the conversation, she just needs to find the right time…which is right now, it seems.
Firstly, James quizzes Cleo about Awhina’s home life and Cleo blurts out that she does not know whether her super close twin sister who she speaks to all-day, everyday has a child.

And then, Awhina’s mum and stepdad give a speech.
“Fee is extremely intelligent, quick-witted and outgoing–” aw! “She is also a mum herself and we are so blessed to have a gorgeous grandson…”
Oops. The small human is officially out the bag.
Awhina quite literally calls time out while her stepdad is talking to pull a blindsided Adrian aside, explaining that she was hoping to tell him herself when they had a private moment.
He tells her he doesn’t know how to feel about it.
”If I could have it my way, I’d like to have that first with someone,” he explains, saying he wouldn’t entertain dating someone with a child in real life.
But he’s come into this with an open mind and isn’t going to run away because of it – and thank God for that, because there are some serious sparks flying during their first dance!
Sierah and Billy’s wedding
We are introduced to English lad Billy, 31, as a quintessential mummy’s boy. Now now, before you start waving your red flag, let him explain!
“Growing up I didn’t really have my dad around, so she has played a very, very important role in my life to keep me on the straight and narrow as much as she can,” he laughs.
He looks up to her relationship with his stepdad and wants to stop feeling like he’s missing out, so he’s hoping the experts can find him a positive, confident bride to build a family with.
Sierah, also 31, is outwardly confident with a more complicated underbelly. She’s never been in love before and is used to putting on a tough exterior to hide her true feelings.
She wants someone funny, respectful and family-orientated, which the experts think aligns her perfectly with her soon-to-be husband – but will she be able to let her walls down?
That’s her biggest worry too on morning of her wedding, but she also wants to break the cycle of self-sabotage.
Hopefully, her and Billy’s big smiles when they see each other for the first time point to that being possible!
Then, he drops to one knee and pops the question.
“I guess,” she jokes – and we’re glad everyone is enthusiastic about this!
Both Sierah and Billy get vulnerable in their vows. And also become best friends.
The fun and banter continues into their reception, where they shovel food into each other’s mouths and we learn that Sierah has the best named cat in all of the world, Pennifer Aniston.
Sierah points out that their couple name would be Silly and it’s perfect for this unserious pair.
The next morning, they wake up as a happily married couple to learn they’re off to Perisher for a honeymoon on the slopes.
Speaking of frosty!
Lauren and Eliot may be in sunny Queensland, but a storm is brewing over their honeymoon dinner date.
MAFS EPISODE 1 RECAP: One bride wants an instant redo after seeing her groom
He still believes they are not right for each, because she’s not 20 years old and she owns a fancy handbag.
Lauren’s annoyed that he’s determined what her values are without actually asking her himself.
“You should be with someone who’s like, probably 40s, and that would be a good dynamic in my opinion,” 35-year-old Eliot shares. “And I should be with…”
”A 20-year-old,” Lauren interrupts.
He calls himself a “very selective person” and yes, I think we know that by now.
She excuses herself to go to the bathroom, but mostly just to vent about how he’s “so annoying” out of his earshot.
EXCLUSIVE: Lauren and Eliot reflect on their wedding day as things begin to fall apart on their honeymoon
The next morning, Eliot finally makes good on his runaway groom threat and leaves Lauren to enjoy their free island holiday on her own. How… devastating?
“So dramatic,” Eliot says as he grabs his bags. Whose fault would that be, hmmm????
All Lauren can do is laugh.
“It’s actually fascinating to watch a grown man throw a tantrum because he didn’t get exactly what he wanted,” she says. “It’s a huge cop out and it’s disappointing.”
Meanwhile, Eliot tells a member of production he gave it a real go across all two days and now he’d like to chat to the experts about why he was matched with someone who did not tick all 578 points on his non-negotiable list.
Whelp.
Thankfully tomorrow night brings us a little more romance, as two new couples tie the knot!
See you there at 7:30pm, bring the popcorn!
