Tonight | The State of Man on ABC: Marc Fennell looks for a way out of the manosphere – The State of Man reaches its final episode tonight, as Marc Fennell turns from the problem to possible solutions. The episode airs at 8.00pm on ABC and ABC iview.

Across the three-part series, the award-winning journalist has explored masculinity in Australia, the online world of the manosphere and the machinery cashing in on what it means to be a man.

A burner phone leads to a march

A nervous Marc joins the March for Australia in Sydney. He is drawn there by the feed on his Young Marc burner phone. That feed has taken a sudden lurch to the Far Right, spewing openly racist AI memes.

Looking for solutions

Desperate for ways to counter the manosphere, Marc then joins a crowd of concerned parents at the Sydney Opera House. There, experts talk about raising boys.

For proof that there is hope, Marc also revisits JJ, Xavier and Flynn. Viewers met the three young men in episode one. Each was sucked into the manosphere in a different way, and each explains how he clawed his way out.

Don’t miss The State of Man, Tuesday 27 October at 8.00pm on ABC and streaming on ABC iview.
