Tonight | Hard Quiz Kids on ABC Family: pirates, black holes and Wallace and Gromit – Hard Quiz Kids is back with four more young experts tonight. They want Tom Gleeson’s Big Brass Mug. The episode airs at 7.30pm on ABC Family and ABC iview.
It is episode five of ten in season three, so the series has reached its halfway mark.
The format is simple but tough. Each child chooses a specialist subject, then has to defend that knowledge under pressure from Australia’s sharpest host.
Meet tonight’s Hard Quiz Kids
First up, Nathan takes on the Golden Age of Piracy. Next, Arshmah will be tested on black holes.
Nicholas has chosen Wallace and Gromit. Finally, Mia knows her US Presidents.
Who will win the Big Brass Mug?
Together, the topics cover history, science, animation and politics. That makes for a varied night of questions.
Gleeson will put all four through their paces, with his trademark deadpan humour along the way. The last one left standing takes home the Big Brass Mug.
The question is whether the kids can stand their ground. As the show says, it is time to prepare to play hard.
Hard Quiz Kids is the junior version of Gleeson’s long-running Hard Quiz. It gives young fans of a subject the chance to show off what they know, while the host does his best to rattle them. Some of the most memorable moments come from the kids firing back.
