Tonight | Believe in Magic: The Mother of All Cons on ABC: a Disney trip raises questions – A children’s charity plans a Christmas trip to Disney World, but parents begin to question the story behind it. The second episode follows the journey and the growing doubts surrounding Megan and her mother Jean. It airs Tuesday 20 October 2026 at 8:50pm on ABC, with streaming on ABC iview.

The charity had drawn public support by promising magical experiences for sick children. Here, the documentary turns to the parents who started checking its claims for themselves, setting the promised trip against their concerns.

A Christmas trip takes shape

In 2015, Megan decides that Believe in Magic should take a group of children to Disney in Florida for Christmas. She says she cannot take a conventional flight because the altitude would make pressure in her brain dangerous. Jean persuades specialist pilots to carry her across the Atlantic in a private plane so that the plan can go ahead.

Parents keep asking questions

A year later, the parents who have taken on the role of investigators track Megan and Jean to Disney World. They remain uncertain about how ill Megan really is and continue examining the claims that helped the charity gain support. The episode follows that contrast between the organisation’s fairytale promise and the darker possibility emerging as those closest to the children search for answers.
